Isabella Leong a few obstacles away from becoming a Li

HONG KONG : Macau-born actress Isabella Leong may have borne Hong Kong tycoon Richard Li his first son, but that doesn’t give her a passport into the prestigious Li family.
Instead, Leong, 21, has some obstacles to overcome before she can marry into the family, Hong Kong media reported.
Leong’s modest background and her academic qualifications are her biggest downfall. She dropped out of secondary school to help support her family. She was talent spotted and started modelling at the age of 12 before entering showbiz at 15.
This has created a disparity in educational level between her and the Lis, and they hope Leong will further her studies. Fortunately, the actress has already made plans to do so. Since taking a break from showbiz last year, she has travelled to the United States to learn English as well as to further her education.
The Lis are also hoping that both Leong and two-month-old Ethan will return to Hong Kong and stay at the family’s mansion. Not only will they be able to spend more time with their grandson, it will also give them the opportunity to get to know Leong and allow her to assimilate into their lifestyle.
Leong, who is now in San Francisco, has indicated that she will be returning to Hong Kong with Ethan to meet with the Lis. Hong Kong businessman Richard Li clarified that he has no plans for his girlfriend Isabella Leong and their son to migrate to Singapore despite earlier reports. Instead, the family would be returning to Hong Kong to meet Leong's family next month.
Li and Leong's relationship has remained low key because of the Li family's reputation and Richard's father, Li Ka-Shing, did not want his son to date a celebrity. The younger Li has never admitted to dating Leong.
Since Richard Li's mother passed away in 1990, the Li father and son have been at loggerheads. Richard has always opposed his father and never appreciated his father's help; the latter thus never poked his nose into his son's relationships. But to ensure Leong and their son are recognised, Richard decided to break the news to his father.
According to an insider, Li initiated a dinner date with his father two weeks after his son's birth to break the news. His relationship with Leong and her pregnancy was unknown to the entire family until then. The father was shocked when he first learnt about the presence of his grandson but was especially glad that it was a boy who could carry on the family line. The older Li supposedly requested to give the child his Chinese name.
The sour relationship between the Lis was thus somewhat resolved by the arrival of baby Ethan and the Li family is reported to be exceptionally doting towards the boy. Isabella Leong in The Curse of King
The Curse of king (Mummy 3) was Isabella Leong's first step into Hollywood's movie world. The other night was the premier show at 仁濟 charity. Anthony Wong and Jessey Meng attended the premier without the big stars such as Isabella Leong and Michelle Yeo. Anthony Wong told reporter it was a good thing that they were not present, otherwise he would not be interviewed. Anthony praised Isabella that she is a very talented actress and her English is fluent. She can fight too. She is still quite young and she will do well . Isabella Leung has recently created a wave of controversy attempting to dissolve her contract with the EEG. Portraying her contract as "unfair" and "unreasonable", yet refusing to specifically say why, even the normally calm Joey criticised her.
"She's having fun overseas while other artists have to answer her questions to the reporters. It is getting very annoying."
Arriving back from Beijing yesterday, Joey immediately rushed to the event hosted for "30hr famine". Having become their ambassador a few years ago, Joey had always been punctual, and explained her lateness due to a flight delay. The host Donald wasted no time and invited Joey to sing her first song, which was ironicly the most famous song of Joey's controvertial partner Denise Ho, "Wood Grain". Joey sang straight away without flinching at the suggestion, although relied heavily on the lyrics provided. Later she revealed singing the song was on purpose and was pre-determined, as a way to spike up the aura in the event.
Joey criticises Isabella for being unreasonable, and demands that she come back to Hong Kong to explain herself.
Being good natured and happy at the time, Joey did a face transformation and gloomed when asked about Isabella's latest attempt to dissolve her contract.
"Will she please come back to Hong Kong now and clearly state what she intends to do. Her blurry description of an unfair contract is indirectly and directly hurting our artists' reputations. Emperor Entertainment Group earlier sued Isabella Leong for a breach of contract terms. The actress-singer had made no move until yesterday, as she took legal action against the company by requesting the courts deem the contract invalid, citing that the contract was unfair and that the commission taken from her earnings was too high as reasons. Isabelle Leung tells us nothing much in press statement
Isabelle Leung has been in the headlines recently for falling in love with Richard Li Tzar Kai, having her EEG contract bought out by him for 1 million, etc. Since news of that broke, Isabelle has been avoiding the media and keeping a low profile. She finally broke her silence late last night with a press statement in Chinese but made no mention of her links with Richard Li.
She stressed that NOT everything that Emperor Entertainment Group said over the past weeks was true and they never verifed it with her beforehand. “I hope that everyone will understand that this is a matter between me and EEG. I want to solve this amicably and have no wish to involve the media or anyone else.”
The “house” issue
“The media has falsely reported my accomodation. I do not stay in a building that I owned. I am only living in a unit in the building for the past 2 years. I moved out in July last year and am not living there anymore.” She didn’t clarify clearly and didn’t say anything more regarding other falsified reports.
Not leaving entertainment industry
Isabelle also hinted that she has no wish of exiting the entertainment industry, “I treasure my entertainment career….I sincerely hope that everyone will not see me differently after seeing all those falsified reports. EEG had strongly denied reports made by Apple Daily newspaper on 12th March saying that Isabelle was rejected five times by EEG and not allowing her to visit her grandpa in Macau. They also said that she didn’t have a fixed holiday for the past eight years. Isabella Leong & Richard Li's Romantic Rumors Continue to Spread
Earlier in March, rumors spread that EEG artist, Isabella Leong was romantically involved with billionaire Li Ka Shing's son, Richard Li. The Li family is one of the richest and most powerful Chinese families in the world. Richard Li is the head of PCCW, the largest telecommunications company in Hong Kong.
A tabloid magazine ran headlines that Richard Li vowed to take care of Isabella Leong and her family for the rest of his life. Allegedly, he also vowed to pay over $10 million dollars (HKD) to extricate Isabella from her long-term EEG contract.
Although Isabella and Richard's rumors have been spreading like wildfire, Richard said to friends, "The rumors do not contain an ounce of truth."
However the story took a new turn yesterday. Allegedly, Li Ka Shing asked fellow billionaire friend, Cheng Yutong, to urge Richard to downplay his romance with Isabella. Mani disappointed as Isabella Leung breaks off all communications
It was reported earlier last week that Li Ka Shing second son, Richard Li Tzar Kai was courting Emperor Entertainment Group female starlet, Isabelle Leung (梁洛施). The person who linked them together was Michelle Yeoh who plays her mother in the movie, “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”. The media also claimed that the both of them had already been dating for six months even though their ages differ by a staggering 22 years. It’s speculated that Richard Li is planning to stake one million to terminate her contract with EEG. Isabelle has now broken all communications with her manager and company and relying on the lawyers as the middleman for negotiations.
Since that happened, her manager, 霍汶希 (Mani) has kept her silence and refused comment. She had hope that Isabelle would return soon.
