Gigi Leung Wing Kei yesterday turned 37 and she did not forget her twin brother's birthday as she posted a birthday photo from their childhood. "When I was little I would celebrate with this guy every year. The birthdays as adults although have different guy and girl next to us, we wouldn't forget that the same day is a big day for the other one too. I hope our smile will forever be as innocent, happy and brilliant as in the photo! Thank you everyone for your well wishes! My appreciation is endless, I can only say that happiness actually is this simple. As long as you open your heart and be surrounded by love, it is the best present."
Friends Angelica Lee Sinjie, Valen Hsu (Hui Yu Wan) and Charlie Yeung Choi Nei posted their well wishes to Gigi and their photo together. This is Leon's first public appearance since he announced his divorce with Gaile Lok. Putting pressure on the other international public figures and soccer stars, Leon was the center of attention. As Leon walked down the red carpet, he only waved and did not stop for interviews. It wasn't until he saw long time good friend, Korean model Jung Woosung, that he stopped and gave him a friendly hug.
Gigi Leung's red carpet partner was The Godfather: Part 3's Andy Gracia. She had a deep V red dress on, and was very careful to not expose herself. Gigi praised Andy was just as handsome and elegant in person, as he was in the film. She awaits for the opportunity for them to collaborate. Andy also hoped to work with Gigi one day. Ah Sa and Michael Phelps were partners on the red carpet, she praised Phelp's outstanding skills in swimming and golf. Phelps heard this and modestly said he's not. He also urged Ah Sa, if she has time, he can teach her swimming.
Michelle Chen was partnered up with Eric Tsang on the red carpet, she expressed she hopes to collaborate with Eric in a comedy film. In response to Oscar Film King Adrien Brody said he wanted to collaborate with Donnie in a Kung Fu film, he joked: "Is that true? Can he handle it?" Gigi Leung attended the "City of organic day" activity in Chater Garden yesterday. She revealed that she has thought about being a farmer. Gigi disclosed that she has applied to turn her roof into a site for growing organic vegetables. After harvest, she can share the vegetables with the other residents. Gigi told reporters she likes riding bicycle and doesn't turn on the air conditioning at home to save energy. Talking about the divorce between Ah Sa and Ronald, Gigi felt sorry for them. She believes everyone has his own story, she hopes they can pick themselves up quickly so that they can start concentrating in their work. HK singer Gigi Leung's family disapprove of her beau
"My family is conservative, they could not accept my relationship with my foreign boyfriend right from the beginning, though they all respect my decision," Leung told reporters at a store-opening of a fashion label on Wednesday.
Leung admitted that her boyfriend was perturbed by her family's refusal to accept him.
However, the 34-year-old singer said that she would "let nature take its course" and "not rush things". She also pointed out that they are "not considering marriage yet".
Last year, Hong Kong media reported that the songbird was seeing a media-shy 40-year-old Frenchman, a furniture designer known only as Sly. Prior to that, Leung dated Hong Kong actor-singer Ekin Cheng for six years before splitting in 2006.
Leung's boyfriend was not the only thing on her mind. She is working hard and saving up as she hopes to be able to buy a house as a gift to her family this year.
"I live in Central while my family lives in Sai Kung. I want them to move to somewhere near my home so we can see each other more often," said Leung, adding that she had no specific budget and wanted to find a place her family likes.
Leung added that she is currently in the midst of preparing for her next Cantonese album but would still visit her family whenever she has time.
"I don't know when I will need to fly off. When I travel, I might be gone for a whole month and will really miss my family," she said.

No reunion for the Four Heavenly Kings

In an effort to help contribute to the relief fund for the victims of Typhoon Morakot, Hong Kong celebrities like Andy Lau, Alan Tam, and Eric Tsang came together to organize the Artistes 88 Fund Raising Campaign. The charity programme took place two nights ago and was participated by over 300 Hong Kong artistes featuring the likes of the four Heavenly Kings, Andy Lau, Leon Lai, Aaron Kwok and Jacky Cheung, Gigi Leung, Cai Qin, Eason Chan, and Sammi Cheng.
The charity show began with the combined effort of all the stars as they sang to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" with self-penned lyrics. All celebrities present at the event donned white plain t-shirts that were imprinted with a map of Taiwan. In a bid to raise more money for the victims of this disaster, Alan Tam lent his vocals throughout the show, and even auctioned off his trophy from the Golden Horse Awards (for a year) and a white jade statue of the Bodhisattva Guan Yin, raising a total of S$200,000.
A total of S$10 million was raised from the successful event. Although the event was supposed to be a reunion stage for the four Heavenly Kings, attempts to get them up together remained unsuccessful as they each took turns to perform separately.
The main organizer of this fund raiser, Andy, appealed to his Taiwanese fans and instructed them to donate their travel funds to the relief instead of travelling to Hong Kong in September for his birthday. An equally bighearted Jacky expressed, "Although I cannot represent the entire of Hong Kong's citizens, however, I can say that most of us are concerned for Taiwan. When there is trouble, we will feel the pain too. If you feel that my presence in the disaster areas will be a great source of comfort, I will be there! I am only afraid of hindering the work of the rescue team."

Gigi Leung denies dating a Taiwan guy
Gigi Leung, Myolie Wu, Kate Tsui and 500 singers appeared on "Jade Solid Gold" the other night as guests. Gigi looked as if she has put on a lot of weight. She disclosed that she has been busy promoting her record as well as eating a lot. She has to go on a diet to lose some weight as she will be filming a new series soon.
Gigi said she does look fat when she saw herself in the magazine. She hasn't appeared on "Jade Solid Gold" for a while and her fans have been complaining that they hardly see her in Hong Kong. Gigi told reporters "Maybe I don't produce many records nowadays. When I released the mandarin record earlier on, I saw all my fans and I missed them very much. Gigi was in Taiwan recently and the paparazzi had taken some pictures of her and a guy together browsing in a book shop. Gigi clarified that he was not her new boyfriend because they have known each other long time ago. Gigi launged "It is common to have dinner with friends. Three years ago, the paparazzi took his pictures and said he was my new boyfriend. I think they had forgoten about it that incidence because they reported he looks like my previous boyfriend. Gigi said that being a director of a MV is a challenging task especially this is her first experience. Gigi Leung wishes Ekin and Yoyo happiness in their marriage
Gigi Leung was invited as guest of honor to attend yesterday's "Yan Oi Tong Charity bowling tournament 2009" in Tuen Mun. Guests including Rain Li, Athena Chu, Ella Koon, William So and HotCha etc were there too. Gigi revealed that she hasn't been bowling for 2 years since she started having her nails manicure. She had been bowling with Andy Lau and Hacken Lee in the past and her best score was over 200 points. She remembered when she was bowling with them, they were always surrounded by fans. Gigi is now learning to do ceramics and will also be releasing a children's storybook in this year's book fair. Gigi Leung was promoting her new record "Gift" in a shopping mall yesterday. She was having an autograph signing session as well as celebrating "Father's Day" activity. Gigi was in the judging panel for the "Almighty Father" contest. The contestants competed with each other to change their babies diapers. Gigi Leung attended an activity (牛展牛覽排排坐) in Harbor City at the Ocean Terminal for the "Hong Kong leukemia Fund " yesterday. She was demonstrating the paper version of "bull" as well as raising funds for the charity. She showed the children about the creative act of paper "bull". Gigi said "2008 was a remarkable year. We had credit crunch and tsunami, hopefully 2009 will be a peaceful year." Gigi was asked if she was affected with the bad economy? She replied " Not too serious, I have lost a bit of my funds, I put my investment on shops and offices and I get a good return." Gigi revealed that she will be directing a music video this year.
Speaking of the interviewed she gave the other day when she was talking about the Maggie Siu being the burden with her and Ekin Cheng, Gigi responded, "That reports need more clarification. Yesterday, director Joe Ma's (馬偉豪) new film " I Can love" ( 愛得起 ) was at an primary school in Hung Hom for the opening ceremony. Those who attended were Gigi Leung, Berlin Chen, Shaun Tam, Louis Fan and HotCha.
The director wanted each one of them to bring a private item from home during filming so that they have the feeling of " home from home". Gigi brought with her a bath robe and a huge pillow. Berlin brought a mug and a toothbrush.
This is Gigi's 4th time working with director Joe Ma. In the film, she and new comer Bing Shao will play husband and wife. She will have an affair with Berlin Chen, the uncle. The two have intimate love scenes in the film. There were rumours that Gigi and Berlin were seen out partying together. This was denied by Gigi. She explained that she was attending a friend's birthday party. She put her present down and left that night. The report was out of character.
Gigi said " Attending a party is a normal thing, even in future when I am married and have kids, I will continue to go to parties." When asked if she would go to a party on her own? she replied " What! I don't care about the rumour, I am not desperate to get a boyfriend and I have my principles "
Berlin was a bit embarrassed when he was asked about the intimate love scene with Gigi.
