Janice Vidal is granted permission by Leon Lai to live with sister Jill Vidal

Janice Vidal attended a public event today. There were reports that claimed Jill Vidal had become more disciplined after becoming religious. Their boss Leon Lai has also increased the opportunity for the twin sisters to see each other. Janice said "Yes, actually I have been living with Jill for quite a while now. Jill is very disciplined. I thank God. She would help me with housework and get emotional when a friend is unhappy. She has changed 180 degrees. I can feel the influence". The reporter asked Janice if she will beg Leon to allow Jill to return to the entertainment industry? She replied "Let things happen naturally. I won't think about it. Of course Jill enjoys performing. Let's just see what happens".

Last night, Linda Chung was recording for , one of the songs she sang was her new song which ranked first place. She said: "I'm very happy, I never thought that my first composed song would be the winning song." She hopes that at this year's Music Awards, she can get an award for her song. She said: "Last year, I won many awards as a newcomer, I believe that this year it will be harder to get an award. This year I had to worry about filming and did not promote my song that much. I hope to have more time to promote for my new album." Lately, she's been busy shooting for new film , she will be a fighter girl and requires her to use chains, when she was practicing, she hit herself and blood was seen.

Janice Vidal reveals that this Christmas she will be going to the United States with her boss Leon Lai for a stage work. She doesn't know if she will be able to attend the Music Award ceremonies. Asked if she's afraid that her absence from the ceremonies will affect her chances to win awards? She said: "I never thought about that. The most important is to do your part. " It's more important to go earn real money? "Both is important. Most importantly is to have enough time."

Leon Lai implies that he won't give Jill Vidal a chance for comeback

Wednesday November 18, 2009 Hong Kong

Yesterday Leon Lai, Janice Man and Janice Vidal were shooting for new film . Guest starring for the film, the director dressed Leon like a begger. Asked if he's playing a begger again? He said: "Actually I don't know what I'm shooting yet, but the director didn't say a begger, it is a person who lives under the Hong Kong bridges, I don't mind." He frankly said that he won't be self-directing the "double J" on how to act because he feels that the both of them have their own talents and styles in acting.

Speaking of Jill Vidal, recently she is working hard to get good evaluations from the public, asked Leon if he is considering giving Jill another chance? He only said: "I already said many times that I cannot expose too much. There are many jobs in this world that one can do, like behind-the-scenes, singing, but sometimes doing one thing requires being responsible for it. As the third person, some of the Media feel that Jill should be given another chance, but for this to happen there are also many other factors."

Leon expressed that their company (Amusic) just wants to simply do music, not always talking about coming back or not. In Jill's situation, if there is an room for further development, it will be revealed in the future, but as a singer, temporarily no. He strongly stressed: "It is just the way it is for many things in life, once something is said, there's no turning back." Asked if he has seen the reports about Jill recently? He said: "I saw a few of them, I see that she is quite happy, but it should not affect anything. There must be a brave first step for a successful outcome."

A few days ago in Malaysia while Janice Vidal was doing promotions for her new album, she was affected by the bad local air quality and hot weather, leading to an asthma attack and fever. Janice was rushed to the nearby hospital immediately. Even her mini concert that was suppose to happen back in Hong Kong last night was cancelled, how unlucky! Yesterday afternoon, Janice's assistant accompanied her back to Hong Kong, she appeared quite weak, her family were very worried about her. Janice said that she wanted to go home sooner to rest. Two male assistants helped her walk away from Media at the HK Airport.

Janice arrived in Malaysia for a short period of 3 days before she had to go to the hospital. Her record company expressed that the local weather in Malaysia was too hot for her, also the recent mountain fire impacted the air quality, therefore Janice was also affected.

After treatment, the Doctor gave her an inhaler and her fever was gone, her blood pressure went back to normal. But Janice did not get enough rest, she still attended the "Astro New Singers Competition 2009". Health still weak, she had exaggerated steps as she walked on stage, almost falling over. Her assistants had to help her. The audience below the stage were shocked. Janice then sat aside to rest, as the Staff went over to help her leave the stage. Janice stayed for another 5 minutes before leaving the event.

Regarding her mini concert being cancelled, her record company expressed that they are looking after Janice's health and therefore decided to cancel it. The concert was already canceled the day before because of a strong storm, asked Janice if she's disappointed? She said: "We all don't want such things to happen, but I will have to wait for arrangements by my company. (Family worried?) They are worried, I also hope to get better soon. (How will you repay your Fans?) Actually I am very sorry, I wanted to go home. (How long will you be resting?) I'm not too sure, hopefully I can get better soon. Actually I am just waiting for arrangements by my company now."

Janice Vidal's English album is finally complete. The song called "Rainbows" shows off Janice's talented vocals. Even Producer Taz Chan praised her vocal very Powerful. He said "Janice sang different versions of the part with high notes for me to choose. She didn't disappoint me. You can say that she has got to another level with her high notes." Janice said "Thankfully, it was a English song. I was able to sing it more comfortably."

As for whether Janice was deliberately showing off? Janice said "That was never on my mind. Producing an English album is something I have always wanted to do while growing up. I have not thought about whether the album will sell or not. My record company think the same." Janice exposed that when Manager Leon Lai heard the demo for the song "Rainbows" he didn't choose it. Instead she was the one that wanted to use the song and it took3 days to finish recording the song. "I hope when Leon hears the song he will be satisfied with it."

Producer Taz exposed the fun elements of Janice's recording habits. He said "She has strengths, but due to her emotions she cannot always get into the song. Sometimes when she is hungry she will buy take-aways. After resting she will get into it. "

Jill Vidal and boyfriend Kelvin Kwan were arrested in Japan earlier for procession of illegal drugs. Her former music record company held a press conference yesterday to explain the details. Jill's father also came forward to apologize to the public on behalf of Jill, the whole time he appeared very nervous as his hand was shaking and even shed tears. A man tearing up while pleading for his beloved daughter, he hopes that everyone will give Jill another chance.

Once crowned as "Mai Wan Sisters" , the younger one Jill recently was caught in Japan for the procession of illegal drugs, dragging her image down along with her. Jill's former record company Amusic held a press conference yesterday, Jill's father Joey Vidal and the Executives of Amusic appeared to explain the situation. Mr. Joey Vidal seemed to have been very nervous the whole time, where he often fixes his glasses, brushes his face, touch his hair and many other small movements.

Prays that Jill will return home in peace

Jill's dad spoke in English saying: "Something like this happening with Jill, as a father and her older sister Janice Vidal, we are very hurt. I understand that my youngest daughter is a singer and is a public figure, this time she's involved with drugs will affect her image. I am feeling very regretful, before the case ends, I just pray for her to be in peace. But as a father, I of course hope that the Media and everyone will give her another chance because Parents' hearts is like the heavens."

When Jill's father spoke about his daughters childhood, he began to shed tears: "The thing that I am most sorry about is that I never provided a healthy family for my daughter to grow up in, this is something that a father should take responsible for, I am sorry, hope that everyone will give Jill another chance, Thank you everyone." He lift up his glasses to wipe away the tears, the Amusic Executives who were next to him, took over for him to explain the situation.

Janice sees her father for the first time at age 10

Janice and Jill Vidal had lived in a broken family, when the two were born, their parents had already separated, Janice lived with her mother in Korea, while Jill lived with her father in Hong Kong. Earlier Janice accepted a special interview and said: "Because I went back to Korea with my mom, so the relationship with my father is distanced, I only communicated with him through letters, when I was 10 years old, my mom moved to Japan, I returned to Hong Kong to live with my father and sister, that was my first time seeing my father."

After separating with her mother for 6 years, Janice and her mother's relationship was not as good: "At first she opposed for me to go into the entertainment circle and become a singer." But, in 2007 Janice debutted and her mother came to Hong Kong to visit her daughters, she especially flew to GuangZhou to enjoy Janice's concert, pulling their relationship closer.

Leon Lai Sends Help to Jill Vidal; Janice Vidal Appears Publicly

The drug related arrest of Kelvin Kwan and Jill Vidal in Japan has raised the attention of Hong Kong society. The two were arrested on February 24, and are currently still being held in custody. Jill’s record company, A-Music, have started to take action yesterday. Boss Leon Lai, has sent representatives and lawyers to Japan to “rescue” Jill. Meanwhile, Jill’s twin sister, Janice Vidal, also appeared looking tired and worn out.

Yesterday morning, Leon met with Janice and her family behind closed doors. They discussed Jill’s current situation and future work arrangements. A-Music will hold a press conference today to discuss the situation. Leon has already sent manager Chan Sin Chi and a lawyer last night to Japan to “rescue” Jill.

A-Music Orders Artists to Not Discuss the Matter
Since the matter is currently in the midst the Japanese judicial process, Leon has informed his artists that it was not suitable to publicly discuss the matter. When Janice was surrounded by reporters yesterday, she appeared tired and from her puffy eyes, it appeared that she has been crying.

Universal Record Company Executive Duncan Wong
Duncan Wong, an executive at Kelvin’s record company, Unviersal, accepted an interview with CRHK yesterday. He revealed that he received a call from Kelvin’s father on Monday to inform him of Kelvin and Jill’s arrest in Japan. His first reaction was one of “sadness and disappointment.” Duncan supported Kelvin and said that he has always had a healthy image. However, this time, it is the truth that he made a mistake. “He definitely did not steal, but the possession of marijuana is true. He already admitted to it.” According to the legal procedure, Kelvin will be released next week the earliest. He believes that the incident will definitely affect Kelvin’s career development.

Peter Lam: If Jill Did Take Drugs, will Definitely Terminate Her Contract
As for the other artist involved in the incident, Jill, there has yet to be evidence that she possessed or had taken marijuana. The boss of East Asia Entertainment (Jill’s company), Peter Lam expressed that his company is still investigating the matter. However, he made it clear that they will not tolerate this type of behavior. If it is true that Jill has taken drugs, her contract will definitely be terminated. “If an individual is caught, he/she should receive punishment.” He said, if this incident really did happen, it would affect the entire industry and the singers. The company would have lost an artist, but the loss to the artist taking drugs is even bigger, “The loss of the artist would be bigger than anyone else, ruining his/her career and future.”

Miriam Yeung: Society’s Educational Material
Miriam Yeung, who is in the same record company as Jill, said, “Leon has already personally called me to explain the situation to me, and we have a mutual understanding that we won’t offer our public commentary.” Miriam expressed that people should not do things to harm their health, and the most important thing is that the young have learned and understood their lesson. “This incident has given society educational material. Currently, there are situations of drug abuse in middle and elementary schools.” When asked about Jill and Kelvin having served as anti-drug ambassadors, Miriam expressed to not mix the two things together. Asked if she felt that the younger singers do not treasure their opportunities and do not respect themselves? Miriam expressed that she will not comment, “While I’m in the same company as Jill, I don’t really know her. But I remember her to be a very punctual and hard working individual.”

Hacken Lee feels Hurt
Hacken Lee admitted to be half of an elder to Kelvin and has known him for 20 years. He watched Kelvin grow up. Hacken said, “When I first learned of the incident, I didn’t dare believe it to be true, and I felt that it was a pity. I don’t feel that Kelvin is this type of person. If it is true, his parents will be the ones that are hurt the most. As Kelvin’s elder, I feel hurt as well. I just hope now that both will come back to Hong Kong safely. Andy Hui feels that the situation not only affects the two of them, but affects people who like them as well. “Every move and action of artists will draw the attention and following of fans. I hope that people will not let this incident affect their image of other artists. People who think will not feel that because of this incident Hong Kong artists are not good and will set a bad example for the next generation.”

William Chan: Surprised that Kelvin is Involved
William Chan and Kelvin go to the same gym and so are rather familiar with each other. William said, “My perception of Kelvin, is that he does not drink or smoke. So when I heard this news, I was shocked. Originally, I wanted to call him but was scared that he’s waiting for more important calls. I won’t send him a SMS either.” While studying in Canada, Jade Kwan witnessed her classmates smoking marijuana and were even arrested. She said that she won’t do it, “There is a big price to pay for taking drugs. A lot of the youth believe that it is cool to do so, but I feel that not doing drugs is the coolest

Her new plug "Even If the World Has No Fairy Tales" heads the 14-track album and is set to top the charts.

East Asia Music Shows Power; Denise Cedes Position to Sammi and Miriam

East Asia Music shows off its singers in a mid-December "East Asia Capital Artists Concert." East Asia recently bought Capital Artists and prepared to hold a concert to show off its singers, in order to polish their brand. Earlier, the East Asia singers filmed the poster for the concert. However, rumors are already circulating over A-Music's Leon Lai and Janice Wei being absent from the poster, and the singers position in the poster. In the poster, Andy Lau is in the center. On either side of him is Sammi Cheng, Miriam Yeung, Richie Ren, and Andy Hui. Denise Ho was behind the first row, but her head shot was located between Andy Lau and Miriam's. Bosco Wong recently joined East Asia and already was prominently featured in the center of the second row, on the same level as Ivana Wong, Wilfred Lau, at17, and Charmaine Fong.

Denies Fighting for Position

Reports indicated that Miriam called boss Peter Lam to get a good position on the poster. As a result of this, Denise Ho was situated behind Andy Lau and Miriam. Miriam responded by saying that a lot of industry insiders have said that the Hong Kong film industry was in bad financial shape, actors have high salaries but still cannot find good scripts. So the "scriptwriters" are now working in the news media, those "stories" are very colorful!

Denise Ho said that in front of her was two "big sisters" (Miriam and Sammi). She is "small" so she should be standing a bit behind. Denise also said that her co-workers joked with her that it was because she was so pretty that she got a big head shot and that already showed her "East Asia Big Sister" status.

Leon and Janice Missing from Poster

Andy Hui said that a lot of singers were from Capital Artists and its New Talent Singing Contest, Gallen Lo, Leon, and Deric Wan all took part. He and Miriam after many changes, have ended up as part of the big East Asia family. Pong Nan also has connections to Capital Artists. Pong's first job was to compose songs for Capital Artist singer 梁浩賢. Pong participated 3 times in the New Talent Singing Contest, but each time lost in the first round.

As for this East Asia concert, both Leon and Janice were both missing from the participants list. East Asia spokesperson Ms. Leung said that Leon and Janice have other work commitments and could not participate.

Miriam's Lastest Album "Wonder Miriam" Sold Over 20,000 Copies

Thousand Island Singapore Miriam News Blog
Thanks to Gaozai for translation!

Miriam's new album has been sold over 20000 copies. Leon Lai spent money to buy a full page advertisement on many papers, breaking the rumors of them being on bad terms. Leon will also organize concerts for Miriam next year February in Shanghai, and next year end in Hong Kong.

Miriam looks rejuvenated and denied it is because of nourishment from love. She will not talk about her relationship until the day she gets married, and will not have a wedding that is like Kelly Chen's. She said she's energetic because after Music Is Live concert, she had sprained her waist and rested for 3 days. She didn't see the papers yet and only knew the company had published a full page ad to congratulate on her good album sales. "It's expensive! But Mr Lai has always been generous." Reporters joked she should understand Gaile's happiness now? Miriam did not dare to admit she has become a pet, "Can't compare this way. The degree is different!" Miriam is pleased about the good sales results of her album and said the company should throw a party for her. She doesn't mind giving a treat but company must pay for the drinks.

Miriam said the rumors are marketing strategies. Artistes always have rumors about affairs or bad terms. She actually finds rumors of a guy and a girl on bad terms are equally interesting. Miriam doesn't deny that entering a new company takes time to get used to it. This album definitely gets more understanding than the previous one. As for becoming Leon's favorite, she said, "All along I don't put myself in these positions. I will put myself in another planet so that it's more subjective."

Miriam will be going to Beijing to film drama "Ji Xiao Lan" for 2 months. She has already started training and practicing. Is she afraid her popularity will drop in Hong Kong when she's not around and affect her results in end year awards? Miriam is not worried. She said Hong Kong is not only talking about popularity but also long term quality. Therefore she has confidence in herself and all these years she had been attending awards shows with ordinary heart.

About Janice admitting she has "came out from the fridge", Miriam joked, "Did she meant she took ice-cream out from the fridge? Maybe her Chinese is not good and caused misunderstanding. Or Mr Lai taught her to say it? Sounds like Mr Lai's golden words." But Miriam said freezing people is no longer a trend now, and doesn't believe Janice is not released from the fridge because of re-signing her contract as that can only be done for insurance policy.

Leon is not worried about ticket sales

Leon Lai is organizing a 3 day charity concert called "Magic Live concert" in Star Hall with Janice (衛蘭) and Michael Wong in November. Ticket sales only started last week; it was reported in a magazine that the ticket sales were very bad.

Speaking to reporters about the rumor, Leon responded "Why are you reporters so eager to know about the ticket sales? It has only been a week since we started selling the tickets. We should wait for another few more weeks. This event is for charity, can't you people look at it from a charity point of view? Did you think this is an Olympic game ticket sales, which gets sold out in the first 3 hours? I am not happy because somebody told me someone from East Asia Record has been spreading this rumor." Leon is pointing his finger at Ivana Wong's company.

There were reports that Jill Vidal is newly favoured by her Manager Leon Lai and replacing her older Janice’s status. Leon arranged a feast on the evening of Jill’s new album release and Janice who has not appeared in the public for awhile also appeared. Leon and the twin sisters used their actions to prove that their relationship had not changed and were not affected by the favouring reports.

While eating with the twin sisters they watched the Olympics opening ceremony together. 2008-07-04
