The Hong Kong actor previously promised to make a monetary donation to atone for his mistake, in exchange for actress Rose Chan's master's forgiveness
Last month, it was reported that Hong Kong actor Benny Chan showed improper behaviour towards 19-year-old actress Rose Chan, when they were filming in Hengdian, China.
After the report and photos were published, Rose's master Master Sin Kwok Lim initially wanted to file a police report against Benny.
However, realising the severity of the situation, Benny and his wife Lisa Chiang quickly held a press conference, but to no avail. Earlier this month, the actor then published a public apology in various major newspapers in Hong Kong and China.
Benny also promised to donate to the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation, finally earning Master Sin's forgiveness.

Sin Kwok Lam, Rose Chan Accepts Benny Chan'S Apology

After suffering indecent assault at the hands of Joe Ma Tak Chung and Benny Chan Ho Man in Hengdian, Rose Chan Ka Wun called the police for help upon returning to Hong Kong. Chan HO Man earlier made a public apology that was not accepted by Rose's master Sin Kwok Lam. Yesterday Chan Ho Man published an apology statement in Hong Kong and Mainland newspapers and made a donation to the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation. Master Sin after discussions with Rose and her mother finally accepted Chan Ho Man's apology and ended all legal action.
Master Sin Kwok Lam yesterday held a press conference at his office and stated that he would show as much mercy to Chan Ho Man as he could. Originally yesterday was the deadline for civil lawsuit and Mainland police reporting, but after seeing Chan Ho Man's statement he thought that he was very sincere. After discussion with Rose and her mother he decided against taking further action. Master Sin said, "First I communicated with Rose and her Mommy.
With their approval I came to make the announcement. Since Chan Ho Man's last public apology, he through different friends contacted us and made suggestions. Finally a friend suggested a press release and donation. We felt he was sincere and the donation to End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation would be meaningful, leave Chan Ho Man with a deep impression and self awareness and show that he has the determination to change."
Master Sin forgave Chan Ho Man out of mercy. He said, "I myself have made mistakes, public apology requires courage and fearless spirit. At first he didn't handle it well, now he is very sincere. I heard that Mainland press release required a personal appearance, with a lawyer as a witness. The donation to End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation can also protect fragile women."
Master Sin considered that reporting to the Mainland police would require Rose to make another statement, which would be very stressful on her psyche. He hoped that the matter had a better resolution. He said, "Chan Ho Man and I both had daughters and understood the responsibility of being a parent. Don't give him too much burden. My wife supported his apology and donation idea. The matter should come to an end. I hope everyone would return to work anew. We will take no further action and the matter is completely resolved for everyone."
When asked how much did Chan Ho Man donate, Master Sin said that he was not at liberty to discuss the amount but it definitely would not be less than Ma Tak Chung's donation. As for whether Rose was forced to accept his apology, Master Sin said, "I am only her master, I can't represent her and her mother. They have to be willing to accept it before I come out and make the announcement." As for private settlement banquet, Master Sin said, "No need, we understand each other.
We don't need any deliberate tea presentation in apology." Would he prohibit Rose from drinking? He said, "Actually I suggested Rose to learn to drink after age 18. Sometimes girls have to entertain outside and she wouldn't get drunk so easily." As for whether Chan Ho Man's intermediary was someone in the business, he said, "Many helped, they didn't want any deserve so I am not at liberty to reveal their names." Benny Chan's wife and daughter discharge from hospital
Hong Kong actor Benny Chan's wife Lisa Chiang was admitted to the hospital a few days ago for a Caesarean section, and later gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
Lisa was originally scheduled to be discharged on Dec 3, but was not released on that day.
"The doctor did not allow Lisa to leave the hospital yet, because she has insufficient breast milk. You'll have to wait until the doctor makes his round again [to know when she can be discharged]," Benny's manager Charlie Lin said, when the media called to ask about Lisa.
At 11.40am yesterday, Charlie appeared at the hospital to handle the paperwork. Hospital staff helped to load the pair's luggage and baby products onto their car.

Benny Chan welcomes baby girl
Hong Kong actor Benny Chan recently shared a piece of happy news amidst all the negativity he's been getting due to his improper behaviour towards 19-year-old actress Rose Chan. Benny held a press conference on Nov 30 announcing that his wife and model Lisa Chiang had given birth to a healthy baby girl, weighing at 6 pounds (2.7kg), and named their baby Chan Ya-Ru. Lisa's gynaecologist had previously detected that her baby's umbilical cord was caught around her neck, thus making it dangerous for a natural birth. As such, a Caesarean section was recommended. At 10am yesterday, Benny accompanied his wife to the hospital for the surgery. It turned out to be a meaningful day for both mother and child as they share the same birthday (Nov 30). Commenting on being a first-time father, Benny said that he was more nervous than his wife. He also let on that his hands were shaking when asked to cut the baby's umbilical cord, but managed to summon the courage to do it. When asked how he would reward his wife, Benny expressed that Lisa, who is currently in confinement, needed ample rest and he would stay by her side to accompany her before returning to China to continue filming Ji Gong 3. When asked if the recent incident with Rose Chan would affect his work, the actor hoped that everyone would give him another chance. Previously, a tabloid claimed that Benny paid Rose HK$1 million (S$160,000) as a form of compensation. Commenting on the report, the actor said, "Today's my two queens' birthday. Let's not talk about that."

Charmaine Sheh's new series "Forensic Heroes II" will be airing next week. While filming the series, Charmaine even sacrificed her personal evening dress by tearing it apart. However, she doesn't mind as long as the outcome is beautiful. In addition, she performed some of the action stunts by herself. "There's one scene where my character jumped down from the pedestrain bridge onto the top of the van when leaped on the ground. We used a stunt double for the pedestrian bridge part. I wan to try doing the stunt by myself but they did not allow me, fearing that I'll injure myself. I performed the part where I jumped from the top of the van, I did hurt myself a little but it's no big deal."
Charmaine is currently busy filming "Turbulence of West and East" and will be taking two and a half month break after finishing filming. She will be returning to Hawaii to accompany her mother for a month and attend functions to earn money for the rest of the time. When asked if she is going to date, Charmaine reply: "I will look out for opportunities during that period because I am hoping ot find a boyfriend. )Have you seen your rumored boyfriend Benny Chan?) No. (But you lived in the same building?) I haven't run into him, but I did call him yesterday because previously I have two assistants, one form Chongqing, another form Sichuan and I'm worried for their safety as I'm unable to contact them. I know he hired one of them, so I called him to ask about their conditions. I feel relieved after knowing they are alright. Unexpectedly, he (Benny) asked me why I'm not asking about him since he is also in Mainland China; I told him 'well you answered the phone, which means you are okay.' In the end, I didn't ask his whereabouts, I onlu know he's not in Sichuan, haha."
Charmaine went to Sichuan before, it turns out that she co-invested in a restaurant with Eric Tsang in Chengdu; luckily it's not affected by the earthquake. Because they are rushing to film series, Charmaine might not be able to attend the fundraising telethon. She hopes that everyone will untie and donate money, big or small amount to help them. She felt that Hong Kong people are very fortunate, we should lend a helping hand as a Chinese.
