Because Gor Gor had many real friends in the business, everyone hoped to be able to do their part on this day. They included "Song God" Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Vivian Chow Wai Man, Kelly Chen Wai Lam and Joey Yung Cho Yi, the Grasshoppers and Julian Cheung Chi Lam. They recently have already begun to rehearse for the concert in order to make this a night to remember, to provide a perfect performance for Gor Gor's friends and fans and to leave a beautiful memory.

Although the singers were busy they still took time to rehearse. This time the concert director Chan Suk Fun also attended; she not only provided suggestions for the performance but also wanted to personally thank the guests for their support for this memorial concert.

Last week during rehearsal, Cheung Hok Yau and the crew held a surprise birthday part for Mrs. Chan. He and the crew schemed and suddenly brought a cake and flowers to Mrs. Chan as they sang the birthday song. Actually March 22nd was Mrs. Chan's birthday. Hok Yau was very attentive and even presented a surprise. Mrs. Chan said that originally in order to prepare for this concert and with her friend Teacher Hui Pui's passing she planned to quietly spend this birthday, but she was surprised and touched to receive everyone's well wishes.

At the same time Mrs. Chan also thanked everyone for their support of the MISS YOU MUCH LESLIE concert. That night it will be broadcast globally for Gor fans around the world to remember Gor Gor together.

Leslie Cheung's last lunch conversation exposed: Want to die, most direct way is to jump off a building

On April 1st of this year, it will be the 8 year anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death.

On April 1, 2003 at 6:40pm, Leslie jumped from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel building in Central, Hong Kong, ending his life. Before Leslie's death, the last person he saw was his designer friend Alfred Mok. The two met for lunch and had a 3 hour conversation. After 8 years, Alfred accepts an interview with Mingpao Weekly and reveals the contents of that "last dinner" conversation.

Alfred Mok is the interior designer of Leslie Cheung's house and the two are also close friends. On that fateful day 8 years ago, Leslie took the initiative to invite Alfred to lunch in Causeway Bay that afternoon.

Julian Cheung will be performing at Hong Kong Coliseum in October

After 5 years of not releasing albums, Julian will be releasing his comeback album in October under Neway Star. He also plans to hold a concert in Hong Kong Coliseum sometime next year. When he was asked if he wants to be “Number 1 Brother”, he said said “Not at all. I just hope that everyone will be like one big family”.

Jealous of Leslie Cheung

There are reports that Anita Yuen enjoys being a “Following Wife” (following him around), in order to block Julian from peach blossoms (Chinese saying for having luck in new relationships with the opposite sex). Julian said, “This is not true. She rarely ever follows me around. Both of use are busy”. Julian admitted that they both love each other very deeply, so it is inevitable that they get jealous when either party works with those of the opposite sex. He revealed that he got jealous of Leslie Cheung in the past. He said, “Back in the days when Anita and Leslie filmed together, Iwas shocked when I saw their emotional or intimate scenes. At that time, I was very jealous. Leslie is the only person who made me jealous. I know that I shouldn’t have felt that way, since they were only doing their job”.

Julian’s new album will include a duet with Myolie Wu. Myolie praised that Julian is a very good singer. She said, “With a singing voice that hasn’t been heard for so long time, I got so emotional, I almost cried listening to it. As well, he sang so well that when it was my turn to sing, I felt a lot of pressure”/

Reminiscing Faye Wong - New Compilation CD Offers Sights and Sounds

Source: Mingpao
Translated by: sparkles_n15 @ http://asianfanatics.net

Last month Universal Music released Leslie Cheung's 'The Most Popular'. The compilation CD went four times platinum, selling over 120,000 copies in ten days. Hoping to follow in this pattern, Universal is releasing《王菲正傳》('Faye Wong Story'). Although she's had many compilation CDs in the past, the biggest selling point for this new compilation is the DVD included in the package. The DVD will contain footage from ten of her performances with TVB and other television stations.

While rumours of her comeback have been floating around, it seems that Asia's Music Queen has yet to make her return to the studios. Aside from filming advertisements, she has only been participating in Buddhist activities and charity functions.

The new compilation is a 3CD + DVD set. The 3 CDs will include 48 classic songs and specially remixed versions. As for the DVD, the footage is from of Faye's appearances at television stations as well as music award shows. Some of the clips show her collaborating with other singers, such as Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai and Sally Yip.

Excerpt From: Chilam Gets 90% Grade/So-Sze Wong Reveals That “Gor Gor” Actually Refers to Daffy Tong

Credits: Serena @ http://asian-gossip.blogspot.com

So-Sze Wong revealed a rarely known secret. She was smiling and asked: “Does anyone know why “Gor Gor” was called “Gor Gor”? Do you want to know this secret?” Then she revealed the secret: “This nosy woman (Carina Lau) doesn’t know this secret yet. A long time ago we had a mahjong player called “Gor Gor”. Carina thought Leslie Cheung was referred to as “Gor Gor”. One time, Carina asked me if “Gor Gor” was going to work. I thought it was strange because the real “Gor Gor” had a 9 to 5 work schedule. It turns out Carina started to refer to Leslie as “Gor Gor”. Our group of mahjong friends couldn’t help but laugh out loud but we didn’t want to hurt Carina’s feelings. So we kept this secret until now. We didn’t tell her. The joke became too big.” According to So-Sze, the real “Gor Gor” is actually Daffy Tong aka Tong Tong.
