The Hong Kong actress was said to have lost millions in the stock market, forcing Ekin Cheng to help her with his hard-earned savings
Plagued with rumours and gossips, actress Yoyo Mung's five-year relationship with actor Ekin Cheng has never been a smooth-sailing ride.
Earlier this month, when Gigi Leung -- Ekin's former girlfriend -- tied the knot with her Spanish boyfriend, Yoyo left the former a congratulatory message, only to be called 'pretentious' by the netizens.
To add on to the bad publicity, Yoyo was also rumoured to be a chronic gambler who recently lost millions of dollars when the stock market crashed.
"[Yoyo] managed to make a profit from the stock market in the past few years. The amount of her investments got bigger and she started to dabble in the Futures Market. In 2008, it was already reported that she lost HKS$800,000 (SGD$125,000)! I heard she lost millions when the recent market crashed!" an insider said.
When Hong Kong media conducted a background check based on the info provided, they discovered that Yoyo lost her margins in 2008 and went around raising money for her debts. The episode eventually ended with Ekin using his savings to pay for her losses.
Following her change to a project-basis contract with TVB last year, Yoyo's workload has been drastically reduced.

Ekin Cheng buys Cecilia Cheung a thank-you meal
The actor frequently meets up with the actress to repay her for standing up for him many years ago
According to the Hong Kong media, Hong Kong actors Ekin Cheng and Cecilia Cheung frequently meet up for meals in Beijing, sparking off dating rumours between the pair.
It was previously reported that during the press conference for their new movie Dangerous Liaisons, Cecilia and actress Zhang Ziyi shared an awkward moment on stage, when the media probed the pair on rumours of their on-set rivalry.
However, it seems that the two actress' fallout stemmed from an incident, which occurred many years ago. Back then, when Ziyi, Cecilia and Ekin were filming The Legend of Zu together, it was rumoured that Ziyi admonished Ekin on set, and Cecilia, who was unable to put up with her attitude, stood by the actor and rebuked her in return.
After Cecilia's divorce from her ex-husband Nicholas Tse, the incident was brought up again by the media.
It was said that a grateful Ekin wanted to reply Cecilia for her actions in 2001 by inviting her out of meals and drinks, since they were both working in Beijing.
Ekin was also revealed to have specially applied for leave from the set of his latest drama, to meet the actress.
On the other hand, Ekin's relationship with girlfriend Yoyo Mung seems to be on shaky ground. The actor let on during a charity event that while he likes children, he had no plans of having one of his own.
He added that there was no need to discuss such matters with his girlfriend, fuelling speculations of the couple's unstable relationship.

Ekin Cheng plans for marriage with Yoyo Mung, but no plans for children
Sunday May 23, 2010 Hong Kong
Source: Mingpao Weekly Issue #2167 | Scans by: TVBChannel.com
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/
Since September 2006 when Yoyo Mung and Ekin Cheng were spotted playing badminton together, the "Mung-Mean("face") Love" started. Ever since, Ekin had always maintained their relationship low-key. Yesterday, Ekin accepted "Mingpao Weekly" interview and happily opened his heart to talk about the topic of relationships, even about marriage. He says: "Before I felt that I won't get married, but now I really want to. Thinking should I really do it?"
Ekin admits that he sees Yoyo as his marriage partner: "Everyone knows that I have dated several times.... each time I would think of my partner as someone who I didn't choose wrongly." Asked if Ekin has plans for marriage? He said: "Some things we have to take it slowly! (Like what?) Many things, sometimes personal, sometimes work related. I want to first focus on those things."
About the marriage age, he does not have a specific age, but does know that he won't be having kids. "I have never thought about having kids! Not that I have financial difficulties, but I don't want my child to deal with the atmosphere and the stress in society. (Does your girlfriend think the same?) I believe that she has the same idea as me."
Asked about his ideal marriage, would it be like good friend Charlene Choi's secret marriage and no announcement? He said: "I feel that marriage is something really personal. Ah Sa's way of handling it is not an issue, marriage is her business. You can criticize her in terms of work, but you have no right to criticize if she's married or not. For me, I don't mind, I could announce it."

Ekin Cheng hopes to be able to do a world tour concert
Saturday May 15, 2010 Hong Kong
Ekin Cheng as the "Neighborhood ambassador", attended the "Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council pledging concerted paddle Races 2010 ceremony" press conference in Ho Man Tin Sports Centre yesterday. This is his forth year as the ambassador. Last year, he took part in the Dragon Boat Race and his team won the race. Ekin told the press that he will not be able to participate this event next month as he will be doing a concert in Macau and in the mainland later on. However, he is hoping his girl friend Yoyo Mun will be there to support the event. Yoyo is in the mainland working on a series at the moment, hence she was not present at this event.
Ekin has a concert in Macau next month, this concert is the part 2 of his Hong Kong concert. Later on, he is hoping to organize a world concert tour if that concert is successful. The reporter asked if he will gamble in the casino while he is in Macau? Ekin said going to the casino is a legitimate entertainment as he an adult. If he lost money in gambling, he would consider he has lost his money accidentally. Talking about the Pang's brothers who were secretly filmed by the paparazzi for gambling in Macau; Ekin responded by saying "There is nothing special about it. That proves you can make a lot of money out of the movie industry. (They gamble a lot of money, $10,000 each game.) I wouldn't be able to do that. I only play the fruit machine. If I play at the table, I only play three games at the most."
Ekin went on to say he doesn't like gambling. He has arranged his family to stay in Macau during his concert there. They have made arrangement to have dinner together without Yoyo as she will still be in the mainland. Ekin heard that Macau's gourmet "shark's fin" is not bad, but since he has become the "Marine ambassador", he doesn't want to eat that anymore.

Ekin Cheng exposes that TVB is unfair
Friday April 16, 2010 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/
Yesterday Ekin Cheng attended the promotional event for the movie with Candice Yu. At the event, Ekin exposed that TVB contracted artists were treated unfairly. He said: "TVB and I had a contract, a TVB contracted artist. However, because of my awkward status and that I'm also contracted under the Big 4 record companies, for the movie promotions, we contacted TVB to set up promotions with them, but they replied and said 'it's best not to'."
Ekin exposed his jealousy of Jordan Chan not having any contracts and are greatly welcomed by any television station. Once worked with Vicki Zhao in, Ekin saw the reports of Vicki becoming a mother and he's happy for her.
Candice Yu plays Ekin's mother in the new movie, she often tells Ekin to dress in a way to make him look younger, so she doesn't have to look so much older.

Aaron Kwok may not reprise role in 'Storm Warriors' sequel
Source: Channel News Asia
Hong Kong actor Aaron Kwok, who plays Striding Cloud in the film "The Storm Warriors", says he might not act in the sequel if the timing is too tight.
The two-time Golden Horse Award winner intends to spend six months focusing on his new musical theatre production and may not have the time to reprise his lead role in the sequel.
Kwok, 44, revealed this at an event on 15 December, to celebrate the success of "The Storm Warriors" which had broken the 100 million yuan (S$2 million) mark in box office receipts in Asia.
"The Storm Warriors" directors, the Pang brothers, had mentioned that overseas investors have expressed interest in a sequel and urged them to shoot it soon. However, Kwok did not want more of the same.
"Even if I were to reprise my role, I hope there will be more of a plot and less fighting," he said. "It all depends on the script, if there is any room for me to express myself."
Kwok added that he will take the role "out of gratitude" if the Pang brothers and the studio head insist.
Kwok's co-star Ekin Cheng, who plays Whispering Wind, was keen to act in the sequel.
"I will definitely reprise my role if they shoot a sequel. After all, I am the most suitable person for the role," the 42-year-old actor said.
"The Storm Warriors" is based on a series of Wuxia comic books and novels by Hong Kong writer Mah Wing Sheng.
The film is about how the two main heroes Whispering Wind (Cheng) and Striding Cloud (Kwok) set out to stop evil warlord Lord Godless (Simon Yam) and his son Heart (Nicholas Tse) from conquering China.
The 110-minute film had only about 200 lines of dialogue while featuring about 70 minutes of CG enhanced fight scenes.

Charlene Choi talks about love: No sex is more romantic
Wednesday December 2, 2009 Hong Kong
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/
Aaron Kwok, Ekin Cheng, Nicholas Tse and Charlene Choi were in Beijing for new film premiere and press conference. Aaron and Charlene talked a lot about love. Aaron said that the modern generation is too complex, often wanting spectacular, but he hopes to have a classic style love life. He expressed: "Simple, romantic and just need simple eye contact with little movements. There does not need to be too many words used, nor should the word old be mention to love."
Charlene only said that she really dislikes the modern generation having sex not long after getting into the relationship. Love without bodily contact is more romantic. In the film, Charlene's role is "Second Dream" and will be having a love relationship with "Nip Fung" played by Ekin Cheng. Charlene said that she was frightened by Ekin's costume in the film. The other female lead in the film is Tang Yan who will have many scenes opposite of Aaron, she frankly said that she feels more pressure.

Yoyo Mung worried Ekin Cheng might eat something wrong on "Beautiful Cooking"
urce: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/
Yesterday was Yoyo Mung's birthday, but she still had to work on her new series "Turning of Induced Temptation". Her boyfriend Ekin Cheng was at the studio recording for "Beautiful Cooking" last night. Asked if she's gonna be celebrating with her boyfriend? She said: "I never really celebrated my birthday, I can count all of my birthday celebrations with my 5 fingers."
Yoyo frankly said that she's worried for Ekin going on "Beautiful Cooking" because recently Chrissie Chow have been quite popular lately, Yoyo said: "I'm not worried about him (Ekin) getting attracted to Chrissie. Actually, I heard about her cooking skills. I am already in hell, but she's down 10 levels in hell. I will tell Ekin to bring alcohol for sterilization." Yoyo laughed and said that she's most afraid that Ekin might ruin his health eating the stuff on "Beautiful Cooking", and that she'll have to take him to the doctors. Yoyo frankly said that she wants to see Chrissie's photobook, but because she doesn't go out much, she can't buy it.

Ekin Cheng not admitting living with Yoyo Mung
Ekin Cheng as "Neighborhood Ambassador" attended the "Dragon Boat Rowing Oath-Taking Ceremony" yesterday. He was learning how to make the festive dumpling with a group of people with disabilities. They were working so well together. Ekin also read out the oath with them as well as giving them the oar to wish them all the best for the boat race.
Ekin participated in last year's race and this year, he will take his spare time to practice rowing. He confessed "Last year, I didn't practice at all, but our team came 3rd. This year, I am going to practice hard and hopefully, we will win." Ekin went on to say that he hasn't started any water sport this year. He said "The fortune teller and my friend both told me not to take part in dangerous sport. No matter what sport I take, I have to be very careful."
Ekin had his pictures taken by the paparazzi when he was having a meal with his friends. They reported he was celebrating his moving into to a new home. Ekin expressed that he was only having a meal with his friends to catch up with the old time. Reporter asked if he is cohabiting with Yoyo Mung, Ekin replied "I am not going to answer your question, she was not even there that night." Speaking about his old home, Ekin reckoned he won't sell it, but he may rent it out, perhaps to the artists who want to expose themselves into the limelight. Ekin smiled "The paparazzi have taken a lot of pictures around my house without my knowledge. I never thought they can take pictures from so far away, like from the mountain and across the harbor. If any artists want to expose themselves, they are very welcome to rent my old home." Talking about his future work, Ekin revealed that there isn't a suitable script for him to make a film at the moment. However, he will be promoting "The Storm Riders II" later on in the year.

Yoyo Mung goes to Ekin Cheng's place to eat rice cake

Source: http://orientaldaily.on.cc/
Translated by travelbug @ http://asianfanatics.net
Yesterday Yoyo Mung and Kevin Cheng appeared together at a farm to attend the graduation ceremony of 長者空中進修學院 (School of Elderly Continuing Education), together with the seniors they dug up from the fields some sweet potatoes. Yoyo said with a laugh that compared with the "graduates", her parents are quite lazy and not like boyfriend Ekin Cheng's parents, who took the initiative and has caught up to the trend of playing video games. Yoyo said she yearns for farm life and hopes to be gardening and planting when she grows old.
In addition, Yoyo revealed that earlier when she was at her friend's place cooking she accidentally cut her finger and hurriedly went to the Emergency Room: "When they looked at the wound there wasn't any blood so they just put on a bandage and that cost $700!" Asked if she is busy practicing to become a good wife, Yoyo said: "No, I am allergic to MSG and cooking by myself is more healthy!" As for whether she will go to Ekin's place to 拜年 (bai nian/pay a courtesy call during Chinese New Year), Yoyo cleverly said: "I will try to go to all my friends' place to "bai nian", also I love to eat 年糕 (nian gao/sticky rice cake) and won't be polite at other people's place."

Aaron Kwok, Ekin Cheng the Earthshaking Heroes
Yahoo News
Posters and trailers of mega movie for 2009 "The Storm Warriors" have been exposed recently. Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng's images as "Cloud" and "Wind" respectively are portrayed as both evil and upright. At the same time, both their characters this time round have more layers and greater depth.
New roles also appear in the movie, such as Charlene Choi's "Second Dream" and Nicholas Tse's "Heartless".
Computer effects added to a 50 seconds majestic scene of horse and soldiers create a greater impact and received compliments.
Kwok says this movie brought him the most injuries in his years as an actor. Computer effects added in the post-production phase posed many restrictions and movements thus have to be more precise. Cheng says the Pang Brothers, directors of the movie, has choreographed new movements and had him train up to take on the challenge.

Gigi replied "We both wanted to split up. This is because we are not in love anymore. There won't be any happiness if we still insist of being together. Therefore, we made that decision." The studio audiences responded Gigi's answer with a loud "Oh". Gigi smiled "Why Oh?"

Tuesday December 9, 2008 Hong Kong
The Storm Rider II has returned to the cinema after 10 years.
Aaron: How are you my dear friend and all the internet friends in Beijing. Ekin and I miss you very much.
Host: Welcome! Please say hello to Sina's audience.
Aaron: Hello.
Ekin: Hello.
Host: In fact, this is the first time "Stom Rider II" is being promoted and shown in the mainland. If you two had thought you had to wait for 10 years for the sequel, what did you think of that?
Aaron: Not really, if we have to do the sequeul, so be it.
Ekin: What me? Storm Rider was the first film with special effect in Hong Kong. At that time, it was very popular. After that, it wasn't so. The boss thought now is the time to do the sequel again, therefore we made 'Storm Riders II"
Aaron: Nowadays, the technology is so advanced, the viewers will benefit a lot of the visual effects. The boss is also very keen and sincere. We are lucky having a good boss.
Host: But it is 10 years now, have you given any thought about how to improve or make any changes to the sequel?
Aaron: This we leave that to the director, it is not up to us. Ekin and I have separate roles.
Host: What do you think Ekin?
Ekin: Everbody know "Strom Rider" is a famous mango. We just play our role to make the characters real.
Host: Is there any big changes in the two characters?
Aaron:yes
Ekin: There are changes from the beginning to the end.
Note:
The conversation continued about the filming of 'Storm rider II". There will be more special effects and action. We will have to wait and watch this space.

Wind And Cloud 2008 (Storm Riders Sequel) - Aaron and Ekin still main lead
NEWS: Storm Riders 2
Jan 2008
Peng Brother is set to re-shoot the 1997 movie “Stormrider”, main lead still remain the same, Aaron Kwok and Ekin. The movie is set to start filming in March in Thailand. There’s plan to submit this film for the Cannes film award in May. Estimate that the film will be release in Oct 2009.
In an earlier interview with Peng Fa, he mentioned that his future movies will have less thriller part and even mentioned that “Stormrider” have nothing to do with thriller but will use the computer technology techniques in “300”, all shooting will be done indoor and at later stage background will be added.
In 1997, Peng Fa was the film editor for “Stormrider. 10 years later, Peng Fa became the director for “Stormrider” and even the lead cast remains the same. This movie received a $10 million budget, by far it’s the most amount, closer to the Hollywood movie” The messenger”.
As for the other cast, at first there’s intention to look for the female lead in Korea, but the movie company took a liking for Ah Sa from Twins and both parties have agreed and will be signing the agreement soon.
Nicholas Tse will also have a part in this movie, this time round, he will be playing the Japanese villain "Jue Xin" (Juet Sum) which he have been thinking of changing his movie path as this role have more room to express.
Credits: Sharon @ alwaysak
=====================
PS : seems AhSA will get role as Dai Nee Mong - Second Dream (第二夢, Di Er Meng) -> Wind's wife......
I just though the story of this wind and cloud sequel definitely focused on Japanese Invasion of China (Story in Wind And Cloud 2)
The Time After the assisted suicide of Hung Ba (Played by Sonny Chiba in earlier flick) under Cloud's sword,
then the most powerful warrior of all of Japan Juet Mo Sun and His Son -> Juet Sum (who will be played by Nicholas Tse) appeared in the second arc of the storyline and brought up a plan to invade China
Wind (Ekin Cheng) would reunite again with Cloud (Aaron Kwok) to deal with the chaos as brought by the fight between Japanese's army and the Imperial army.
