HONG KONG : Former actress Bobo Chan has put the Edison Chen sex photo scandal behind her and reportedly got engaged to boyfriend Philip Jin in a low-key ceremony.
According to the latest issue of 3 Weekly magazine, the ceremony was attended by family members, relatives and friends, and the couple were a picture of happiness and were often seen intimately together, prompting guests to urge the couple into tying the knot soon.
Previously, a reporter had asked Jin's mother what she thought of Chan marrying her son, and she smiled and gave the thumbs up.
According to the 3 Weekly report, although the couple are not officially married yet, Jin's family is willing to overlook her past and accept her. Chan has also put the past behind her and is looking forward to the wedding.
Chan's engagement to Jin was reportedly called off when the sex photo scandal broke in January last year. The 30-year-old fled to the United States for 10 months and recently opened a gem shop in Hong Kong.

There is a persistent rumour that the source of the Hong Kong nude picture scandal, Kira, would come out of hiding for tomorrow’s prelim hearing of 史可雋. He would upload new pictures but he has not been seen in Hong Kong sites. It was reported that there were 67 new pictures in mainland Chinese sites. It appears to feature BoBo Chan but the authenticity is not known. It is not known if Kira has “resurrected” but the male lead, Edison Chen, has come back to life in Chengdu. Due to the incident last year, all of his new sunglasses advertisements/commercials were not shown. The incident has settle down so Edison is “coming back to life” to test the market reaction. Last night, BoBo Chan’s current boyfriend Philip Kam has appeared at a function. He was hounded by several dozen reporters and asked if he would be marrying BoBo. Philip kept a smile on his face and announced that he would give an explanation about the situation soon.
BoBo’s boyfriend, Philip, has not appeared in public since her involvement in the scandal. There were rumours that their wedding plans were brushed aside. But he is a righteous and loving person who has been protecting BoBo. Last night, he appeared in public as the sponsor representative at the ABSOLUT Couture fashion party at Lan Kwai Fong. There were dozens of people who surrounded the scene to get a look at the situation. The scene attracted a lot of tourists who took pictures and looked around because they thought Philip was some sort of celebrity. Afterwards, they were asking who Philip was.
Edison came back to life when his sunglasses advertisement appeared on the buses in Chengdu. According to local media reports, the posters featured an extremely cool Edison who was wearing sunglasses. He still has a stylish guy look. Yesterday, reporters contacted his management company to confirm the news reports. Edison did do advertisements for a mainland Chinese sunglasses brand. The brand requested that he come to do promotional work in February but it was cancelled due to the scandal. Edison Chen had been staying in Four Seasons Hotel last Friday to escape the media onslaught on his home. But a twist of coincidence saw Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung also checking into the same hotel that same day, it’s believed that when they bumped into each other, both men nearly came to blows with Cecilia crying and trying to separate them. Nicholas was softened by her tears but still faced off against Edison for about 3 minutes. He finally relented and backed off, probably mindful of the costly bodyguards that Edison had hired. Nicholas and Cecilia checked out of the hotel immediately and headed back to their own home. Conflicting reports on whether they still are together.
Bobo Chan whose wedding plans was scuppered by this unfortunate scandal is reportedly three months pregnant which might explain why she was about to get married. But with her wedding now officially off because of objections from her mother-in-law, netizens are up in arms and feeling unjust for her.
Jolin Tsai whose name has been tainted by this scandal has asked for the Hong Kong police to release the list of female starlets implicated in this. According to sources, the list of unidentified women photos which was newly discovered in Edison’s home last week belonged to a Taiwanese star, Hong Kong star and a model. Elva Hsiao is also implicated in this because of past links with Edison.
Jolin hopes that the police will reveal names so that her reputation is not tarnished by this. But the police themselves are at their wits end because despite pleas to Cecilia Cheung, Candice Chen and other female stars linked to this scandal to help with investigations, none of them have been willing to step forward to co-operate. With no one stepping forward, the Hong Kong police has no choice but to keep their silence over this matter.
The Hong Kong police have also refused to rule out the possibility that Edison Chen could turn from being a victim in this scandal and be charged in court instead for photographing Vincy who could be underaged when she was photographed and being in possession of “racy” photos and videos.

Denise Ho Reveals: Scandal May Affect Bobo Chan's New Relationship
Regarding her good friends, Bobo Chan and Cecilia Cheung being involved in the latest celebrity scandal, Denise Ho commented, “When seeing some of the pictures in the newspapers, I was extremely worried about their feelings. I am very angry, the person who released these images should have his head chopped off. I really do not understand his motive, does he think it is fun? Or does he benefit from this?” When asked if she believed that those featured in the erotic photos should check how they live their lives, Denise replied, “I cannot judge. Real or fake, as a Hong Kong citizen I believe people should have respect. People should not continue circulating these photos, as it makes the issue grow bigger and bigger. I am very anxious about the whole thing because of my friends’ involvement.”
Denise has sent a message to comfort Bobo and has received a reply. She disclosed, “Bobo has already left this industry. She has a new boyfriend, which I am very happy for her. But now, this incident will definitely harm them.” When talking about Edison, Denise said, “I am only worried about the females’ feelings.”
Mani Fok: Gillian is Recovering from Illness
Eason Chan, FAMA, DJ Tommy and EEG executive, Mani Fok yesterday attended the opening ceremony of a Skyhigh Creative Partners project. Regarding the latest celebrity scandal, which involves pornographic material featuring Hong Kong artists, Edison Chen, Gillian Chung, Cecilia Cheung and Bobo Chan, police have arrested a suspect. But I cannot talk about this issue too much at this event.” Mani then disclosed that Gillian has still yet to recover from an illness and that she has been keeping in close touch with the singer.
FAMA, on the other hand, revealed that they have not contacted their boss, Edison Chen and so, they did not know that he has left for America until they read the papers. Suspected erotic pictures of Edison Chan, Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan and Cecilia Cheung are circulating on the internet. The events are becoming more heated. There are debates about authenticity, and manipulation of the pictures from the start. Yesterday, the debate’s topic changed. Traditional family views like Virginia Lok who reminded people to not be blinded by love or foolish (headstrong) because it will be too late to regret it in the future. Modern mom, Prudence Lau said that you need to focus in the midst of passion. If a partner takes out a camera, she will kick them out.
Virginia Lok: It doesn’t matter if you are female or male artistes, you need to know how to protect yourself. You need to know how to choose you friends when you are older. Most importantly, you need to know when to say no! It is alright for younger people to relax so you need to have self-control. Artistes under her management will “submit a report” to her if there is a problem. It is unfortunate if their image or career is damaged. She said: “It’s bad to use your camera phone to frivolously take pictures or go onto the internet. Don’t be blinded by love. Don’t think that you can keep your partner by your side if you do as they want. Do not be foolish or else you may regret it in the future.”
Stephen Chan: The workers in the artistes’ department will give a lot of advice to female artistes. We will take legal action if our company’s female artistes are involved in the nude picture scandals. I did not view those pictures and I don’t believe that it is real. I hope that people that have viewed the pictures would not transfer/send it to other people. Do not help this harmful trend out.
Prudence Lau: I am an open-minded mom. I have no problem talking about love and sex but I have no interest in taking intimate pictures. When you are “doing it”, you need to focus. Who would want to take out their camera to take pictures? If I found out that my partner took out a camera, I would kick him out. There are some abnormal people out there. Even though I am open-minded but I won’t take intimate pictures. I don’t know if the nude pictures that are rocking the entertainment circle are real or not. But I feel bad for the people involved in the scandal.
Carl Ng: I feel that the people who were photographed and had the pictures taken and made public are foolish. The pictures are too obvious and I hope the pictures are fakes. Or else, Hong Kong will have its’ own version of Paris Hilton. I am not interested (in taking intimate pictures) because I am impatient. In that situation, I would not have time to set up the camera to take the pictures.
