Maggie Cheung expresses her dissatisfaction with Aimee Chan

Hong Kong broadcast station TVB is currently facing a dearth of leading ladies. That had caused them to invite former lead actress Maggie Cheung to make her comeback. The actress had been cast as the female lead in many of TVB's recent dramas.

Recently, while filming Stairway to Heaven, actor Moses Chan was said to have asked a producer to give his girlfriend Aimee Chan more screen time. This would turn Aimee's character from a minor role, to an important one in the drama.

Aimee's character would also have more interaction with Moses' character. An additional rape scene, which would have the audience pity her character was also added, making her character stand out more than Maggie's lead role.

According to an insider, Maggie, who is known for her good acting skills, was dissatisfied that Aimee had used Moses to gain more screen time.

"Maggie told the producer that she's the only one who can bring out the character and added that there should not be so much interaction between Moses and Aimee, because she plays a couple with Moses in the drama," the insider said.

Furthermore, Maggie supposedly persuaded the producer to cut Aimee's scenes, claiming that Aimee's "pronunciation is inaccurate and could not deliver her lines clearly".

It is believed that Maggie would tease Aimee whenever the actress made a blunder on set, causing the latter to lose confidence.

Aimee is said to be on the verge of giving up on asking for extra screen time, since she is facing a tough opponent.
