Faye Wong dismisses pregnancy rumour on microblog

Chinese singer Faye Wong has always wanted to bear her husband a son, after the arrival of her daughter in 2006.

A few days ago, Faye was recently spotted with a noticeably larger bust and a slightly bloated stomach, fuelling speculations that the Mandopop diva is already three months pregnant.

She also panicked and covered her stomach when she noticed the media following her at a previous event.

Her manager Katie Chan merely gave a vague answer later, saying that she "did not know", when the media approached her.

Faye, who is currently in Beijing, updated her microblog yesterday.

"All right, I admit I'm not pregnant, I just put on some 'autumn fat' (refers to a person eating tonics during autumn and gaining extra weight in the process)," she wrote humorously, adding a smirking emoticon at the end of her sentence and attaching a picture of a fat seal.

Katie later reposted Faye's entry and asked, "What is 'autumn fat'?"

Chinese singer Na Ying's manager explained immediately, "It is used to describe the changes in body weight."

Faye's clarification helped calm down several of her fans, who panicked and believed that the singer will quit showbiz after she gave birth.

"We can continue to hear Faye sing now," they commented.

While many were fearful of Faye's exit from the limelight, there are also fans who hope that Faye willgive birth to another child and even sent her words of encouragement, asking her to "try harder".
