Cecilia Cheung to let her son focus on his education
Things are finally looking bright for Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung.
The Invaluable Treasure, a movie which featured Cecilia and guest-starred her eldest son Lucas Tse, would be released soon.
Recently, the actress also successfully clinched a contract with New Asia Entertainment Group, who will set up a production company in her name.
At the same time, companies had been requesting Cecilia and Lucas to co-star in their commercials. A dairy products company even made an eight-digit offer to have the pair in their advertisement.
However, Cecilia rejected the offer, because Lucas would be starting school at the end of the month. The actress explained that no matter how much the offer is, she did not want her son to participate in any public performances and wanted him to focus on his education.
Previously, it was reported that Cecilia was willing to give up her alimony in exchange for the custody of her sons.
According to the Hong Kong media, Cecilia could have custody of both children, if she could be a good mother and keep her word of not allowing them to enter showbiz when they are young.
Responding to why Cecilia rejected the offer to film commercials, her manager said, "Cecilia and Lucas have had many invitations; but Cecilia would not consider any, because she hopes that Lucas could focus on his studies. The reason Lucas participated in The Invaluable Treasure was to let him experience something different. He was on set to play for two days only."
