Hong Kong actress Ada Choi might be expecting a baby girl in May, but that did not stop her and husband Max Zhang from moving house.
Last year, Ada sold her old place and rented her good friend's bungalow. Not long later, the actress was said to be pregnant.
Currently, Ada has already stopped work and is concentrating on her birth. To welcome her baby girl, Ada spent HKD$7 million (approx. S$1.14 million) on a new house.
According to Chinese traditions, moving house during pregnancy is taboo as it might lead to a miscarriage, premature birth or disability in the baby.
When Ada announced that the couple would be moving house at her baby shower recently, family elders advised them not to. However, being a Catholic, Ada does not believe in superstitions.
A source added, "Max's mother was unhappy over it, but everyone knows Ada's the one who's making money. So it's all up to her."
