9 Filming In Plastic Wrap At 9 degrees Celsius Tavia Yeung’s “Floating Corpse” Look

Yesterday was the fourth day in the Lunar calendar. The weather was about 9 degrees Celsius. Tavia Yeung had to bear the cold to film a water scene pretending to be a floating corpse. Even though she had 5 layers of clothing to keep warm but she couldn’t tolerate the cold wind. Her hands were shaking from the cold and her entire body was stiff!

At the outdoor set, Raymond Wong, Tavia, Guo Feng and Sammul Chan was filming for the new TVB series “Salt Traders/ Sweetness in Salt”. The scene described Tavia being chased and she had to jump into the ocean. Fortunately, Raymond was there to save her. During the filming, Tavia had to brave the 9 degrees Celsius weather and go into the water. She prepared for the cold weather by wearing five layers of clothing, brining ginger tea, and warmth bags. But she was so cold that her hands were shaking and her body was going stiff. She needed workers to help her out of the water.

Tavia’s teeth were still chattering when she said: “I already wrapped myself in four layers of plastic. I even prepared a wet suit. I needed to float on the water surface for that scene. It’s really cold. So cold that I’m stiff! I lost feeling! Today was a memorable day because I don’t know how to swim. But I need to float which was scary and cold! (Your first time in water this cold?) No! When I was filming in mainland China, it was 1 degree Celsius below freezing when I needed to stand in the rain and get into the water. I remember there was ice forming on the umbrella I was using. That time, it was so cold that I forgot my lines. This time, luckily I don’t have to say any lines since I am a “floating corpse”. (During the CNY, you need to do killing and chasing scenes. Do you feel it is unlucky?) No! Getting into the water during the CNY is good because water represents wealth. I believe I will have a good year.”

Also, Raymond, Tavia and Sammul were handing out lucky pockets. After Tavia received a lucky pocket from Raymond, she said: “The lucky pocket have a pretty wrapping. There is a McDonald meal card inside. He’s hopes I won’t unwrap the lucky pockets. I don’t want to unwrap it! I will use it as a lucky charm instead.”
