Samuel Hui is still mourning over the loss of his brother Ricky

Veteran Hong Kong comedian Ricky Hui passed away at the age of 65 last Tuesday, due to a heart attack.

While the entire Hui family was devastated, younger brother Samuel was the one who was the most affected by his brother's death. Ricky and Samuel had been through thick and thin in the 70s and 80s, on their roads to fame.

The singer was said to have refused to leave his house, opting to mourn the death of his brother at home.

It was said that on the night of the Ricky's death, Samuel had kept contact with his second elder brother Michael, who was trying to pry open Ricky's door. The singer was on tenterhooks when waiting for an update on his brother.

When Samuel received the bad news from Michael, he was unexceptionally quiet, returning to his room to read books and listen to music. His actions and mannerisms worried his wife, who called their sons for help.

Not long after Michael spoke to Samuel on the phone, the latter could no longer hold back his tears. He broke down and cried.

Several days after Ricky's death, Samuel was still grief-stricken. Sadness was etched on Samuel's face, whenever Ricky was mentioned. The singer did not leave his house for a week, and had recounted his brotherly ties with Ricky to his wife.

In other related news, the Hui brothers will be laying Ricky's ashes at Bao Fu Crematorium on Nov 25 and his funeral will be held tomorrow. The funeral is restricted to family members and close friends only.
