The couple thwarted rumours about their alleged marital crisis, by appearing together publicly
Singer Leon Lai and model Gaile Lok, who tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2008, was recently rumoured to be facing marital woes. Prolonged separation due to their work obligations was speculated to be the cause of the strained relationship.
There were also rumours that actress Zhang Ziyi had come between the couple and that Gaile had moved out of their marital home.
A month ago, when the media approached Gaile, the model told them that she "may be" moving out of the couple's marital home, fuelling speculations of a marriage breakdown.
Earlier this month, Leon and Gaile released a joint declaration to refute the rumours and deny that their marriage is facing a crisis.
However, that did not stop the rumour mill from spinning.
Two days ago, the couple attended separate events in Beijing. Leon did not speak about his marriage, while Gaile -- who was spotted without her wedding ring -- kept quiet and refused to answer any questions, relating to her husband.
Their actions caused speculations that things were not going well between them.
However, things took an unexpected turn yesterday, after a netizen uploaded a photo of the pair behaving intimately in front of a hotel in Beijing.
In the picture, Leon -- decked in a pair of black-rimmed glasses and black jacket - was smiling, while Gaile held her husband's arm. The model was expressionless, as if she was troubled by the rumours regarding her marriage.
