After two past miscarriages, it was not easy for Cecilia Cheung to conceive another child. The actress decided to play it safe with this pregnancy and has been cooping herself up at home. Apart from that, her mother-in-law, Deborah Kerr, has ordered Cecilia to minimize contact with outside strangers to lower the risks of viral infections.
Currently four-months pregnant with her second child, it was a rare sight to see the 29-year-old actress doing some grocery shopping with her son, Lucas, and her in-laws at the supermarket. The family made a trip to the supermarket located in Zhong Huan and appeared to be in visibly high spirits.
Both mother and son were smiling and laughing throughout as Cecilia pushed Lucas around in the grocery cart. Cecilia's mother-in-law stood around her and was ready to lend her daughter-in-law a helping hand throughout their trip. Deborah's husband, Patrick Tse, was armed with a video camera in hand, shooting Lucas's every move and action.
The family discovered the presence of reporters and Patrick instinctively held up his camera to shoot the 'intruders'. In an interview about her baby's gender, Cecilia nonchalantly replied, "I don't know [if it is a boy or girl]. It doesn't matter [when I make a comeback]. I'll talk about it after giving birth."
Sporting a bright smile, Deborah said, "It is definitely good to have more grandchildren. We're not afraid [of people bumping into her on a crowded Sunday], as long as people avoid her, it is fine. Ask the grandfather [for the baby's name]."
Patrick laughed when he was told of the question on the baby's name, "The baby's not borne yet, how do I give the baby a name? We'll wait for Nicholas to think of a name."
