On how Tavia joined the industry, it is similar to a certain chinese proverb. Tavia entered the industry accidentally. she started by accompanying her friends to join TVB's acting academy. Well, this accident stretch over almost a decade. Although it wasnt her choice of work but when she gets the opportunity, Tavia puts her heart and soul into the job, equipped with a strong determination to do her very best to act out different roles and today, she can finally act out her own dreams!

Normally we will always see Tavia on the TV screen, and she rarely top the headlines of the gossip newsrags, so what is she really like in real life? Actually, every actor's character can be seen through their acting of roles. Like as they say, shows reflects life and life reflects shows, no matter real or fake, during acting their little habits and personality will be imprint in their roles. Thus from all the dramas, we can see that Tavia has a very forthright character. Therefore, to her, in Dicey Business, to portray someone with big curly hair, ignorant, simple minded, short-tongued Mimi, is very challenging and yet to Tavia is her most satisfied work ; because this character mainly focus on the appearance and the way Mimi speaks ( a bit crazy ). It is very different from Tavia's real personality. In real life, Tavia is never a person that is soft and loves to whine, that's why it is a very challenging role for her. Her acting skills in the show gives the audience another fresh look of Tavia Yeung, making people recognized her improvement and to prove that she has real solid acting skills.

Straightforward person

Although in the past she have been acting as various different people, Tavia enjoys portraying them, she enjoys knowing the character she is portraying and slowly knowing more about them, going into a deeper understanding of the roles she’s in, because this could allow her to try many different character in terms of personality. This, results into her being able to understand many different characters/personalities, helping her to be close to everyone, that’s why she choose to continue with her acting career. And because of this, it made her to mature faster and yet retaining her outgoing and optimistic personality. However, due to her perfectionist attitude, she has definitely been troubled before. ‘ If I would be very frank and voiced out my opinions, will it offend others? Should I or should I not speak? So sometimes it is very contradicting.’ In the past, Tavia worries whether the people around her will accept her opinions and thoughts, and she doesn’t dare to say it out front and only kept those words in her heart. But, she wants to bring the best to the audience thus she finally broke the silence. Because she believed that only by telling truthfully, she can therefore pursue better quality of her work. However, she would use a more indirect way to tell her views. This way, she will not offend people and yet at the same time able to tell her views and complete the job. In the entertainment industry for almost a decade, she fully understand the way of surviving. She has high expectations of herself, but she also understand being obstinate and inflexible is a line different, what she wants is flexible and not being stubborn all the way. She doesn’t want the simple and perfect ending to turn out into unwanted stress, and affects her surrounding friends; so in the area, she got in perfectly under controlled.

Throughout these years, Tavia's acting career has been a smooth one. Although there are no major setbacks, but there have been times where things weren't going very well. When she just started off as a newcomer, she has made mistakes, but instead of feeling sad about making the mistakes, instead she learn from her mistakes and will not repeat it only then she will have improvements and go further in her career.

Tavia said with a smile that it is possible to see her character through her daily lifestyle and hobbies. Being very frank, the worst habit she cannot endure is being late, because when one is late, he or she will waste everybody’s time; she never allow herself to be late, plus also she dislikes people that runs late. Moreover in the industry, being late is a big taboo, so at every moment, she had to warn herself to give her very best in whatever she does, to always use a newcomer’s mentality to not be too proud and keep to her duties. She said, out of the four seasons, she loved the romantic atmosphere of autumn(fall). Yes, although she looks tough and frank, but somewhere in her heart, there’s still a part that is a diehard romantic. It’s like she love watching romantic love stories, movies, comics and love the season autumn. When being asked preference of sun rise or sun set, her immediate answer was sun rise. ‘ Because sun rise is filled with hope and brings light to day, it’s like filling people with endless hopes.’ this reflects Tavia's optimistic attitude to face her daily life.

Letting Go

Tavia can be described as a very modern lady, in this world of equality between men and women, yet she has a different view from others. ‘ Man and Women are still different, no matter in terms of strength or character, it can never be measured by using the measuring line. Men have their strong side, however, Women also have their tough side; Women and Men can be gentle and caring. As long as people sees it in a fair light, both Men and Women can be equal and receive the same respect, Men and Women must not necessary draw a line and balance it.

Talking about relationships, Tavia says it is every girl's dream to finally meet her prince charming. But as they say, "It will only come true in shows", to have it happen in real life is not an easy task. Your ideal hero could be the one who rides the white horse can save you when you are in trouble, (damsel in distress), or the one who shares the ups and downs with you. But that is only wishful thinking, Tavia's ideal man would be one who fully understands what she is thinking, one who is always standing by her when she needs him. In the aspect of love, every women has different views. But one thing's for sure, every woman would want a loving relationship with her partner.

Under her sparkling appearance, what Tavia wants very simple and easy. As long as there’s additional trust in their love, that’s enough. ‘ Between two people, other than love, what's more important is the trust between two people. If there’s lack of 100% trust, love that is full marks may not even pass the test. With trust, two people can get along more easily and also let both of them to have a larger freedom to do what they are good in.’ Being just real “ hot ” in the showbiz now, she hopes to have control in both relationship-wise and career-wise. She hopes to continue her passion for acting. If one day, her companion wants her to retire, put her heart and soul into their family, Tavia said, to ask her to let go of her first love, which is the entertainment industry is very hard for her. But, things are never absolute, if she can find a balance, she feels that it is worth to put in so much for the relationship, perhaps she will let go.


Not a fan of bustling crowds
As an artiste, it is a norm to attend many parties. However Tavia said frankly, " I don't really like to go to parties and mingle with the crowd. I prefer to have dinner with my closest friends at our houses." That is the ideal party in Tavia's mind. What is better than to get together with your closest friends and have a heart to heart talk? Not only it makes her relax, it also makes her happy. She is the type of person who will only open up to people she is close to, and likes to have heart-to-heart talks, she is not the kind of person whom will be very friendly on first sight. So when either of her friends is hosting a party, she will definitely attend. That is because she knows there will be familiar people and close friends around. " Normally in shows I always portray different people that is not me, so in real life I dont want to portray anybody except myself.I want to live life as a normal person too. "

A perk of being an artiste is to be able to travel to many countries, but Tavia said her most favourite country will be her home, Hong Kong. Besides being her home country and filled with many memories, Hong Kong is an international bustling city, also, as HongKong was once belonged to Britain as a colony, it has many different cultures already embedded into the lives of many Hongkongers. When asked about Hongkong, Tavia speaks up enthusiastically. It seems like she is HongKong Tourism Board's Ambassador! Upon asking what country she wants to visit the most, Tavia being the ever so romantic replied " France! Because France gives me a very romantic and cultured feel. To me, France is full of love! "
