Miriam, Eason Chan, Huang Zheng and Chen Kun performed in Shanghai for the Johnny Walker show. Miriam reminded, "Don't forget, I'm actually a singer."

Her good friend Eason is already a big name in the Chinese music scene and Miriam is still fighting for her singer identity, "Eason released Mandarin songs earlier so people are very familiar with his songs. I have fewer Mandarin songs. Actually, we started out from the same singing competition."

Even though Miriam's music awards are being presented by Hong Kong's top four media stations, China fans are actually familiar about her music as well. However, the lack of Mandarin songs do affect her development in the China music scene. Miriam also knows about this point, "Company is preparing for my Mandarin album. My Mandarin album will release around end of the year. Next year February, I'll hold a concert in Shanghai."

She thanked Leon's company, "I used to be very self indulgent in my music. Now even though I still have my own thinking, I'll give up certain stuff and the result turned out to be good."

The day's event has the theme of "Friends give me encouragement, I strive towards my dream." Miriam also has encouragements from friends and family when she experienced setbacks and downhills in her career.

Miriam admits when she's down, friends' encouragements and consolations brings her warmth. Amongst them, she likes to talk to Lin Xi. "He's a person who understands what others think easily. When I'm unhappy, he would give me counseling." Her song "A Boat" was specially written for her by Lin Xi. There's a few lines that makes people think: To accomplish lifetime ambition is too much / Who can own everything? / Scared to have clear thoughts too early / Like a puppet even when hugging...

Worldwide financial crisis affected celebrities a lot as well. Miriam admitted being affected a little, "The economy is not good now, very obvious artistes are getting fewer jobs and affected income." As for investments, Miriam is not really into stocks, but invested in some properties, so there's also a bit of loss.

But Miriam who is all along positive, is not too worried by it. She's not very hands on in her investments and usually leaves them to her mother to handle. Current situation, the best way will be to let nature takes it's course.
