Aimee Chan Sacrifices her Long hair to play Childhood ambition

Aimee Chan who had cut her hair short for her roles had appeared in TVB series "Catch Me Now", "The Academy III" and currently filming "Burning Flame III". Although she missed having long hair she felt sacrificing it for a good role was worthit. Her childhood ambition was to become a police officer, therefore she claim's she will do whatever it takes to play this role.

Aimee explains "My childhood ambition was to become a police officer because I had always been quite tomboyish. I think I am very lucky to be able to portray a policewoman in my roles. Also the uniform is very smart. Although policewomen need to have their hair shortened, I still think that girls look better with longer hair. Originally the TVB producers asked me whether I wanted to cut my hair for the role because they were worried that the outcome may not be appealing to the audience. However, even though I felt I would miss my long hair I thought about it carefully. I felt that the role itself was very tomboyish so to have my hair shortened would be more appropriate. Infact helped me get into character better and I started to like it."

Don't think that Aimee is gentle and sweet by her appearance, she revealed that when she was a child she loved playing with toy gun's and boy's toys. Aimee states that while filming "Catch Me Now" she had the opportunity to hold a real gun, this made her extremely happy. But she also admired Koni Lui for being able to hold and use many big rifles. She states due to safety precautions she was not allowed to open fire with the real guns. But after many attempts of persuasion the producer allowed her to shoot the target board with a real gun. She claimed that the feeling of firing a real gun shot made her overly excited, as she has always wanted to experience holding a real gun since a child. That feeling and memory had made her very happy.

Aimee Hopes to Portray an Evil Role to Challenge herself

Aimee states that she hopes to portray an evil character because she would like to challenge herself. She would especially like to play a very gentle yet very feminine role. (Aren't you worried that portraying an Evil role would make the audience hate you?) "If the audience really does hate my role, then I would see it as recognition. It would mean my acting had been approved by the viewers. But I think the audience would know how to separate what is acting and what is real."
