Hong Kong singer-turned actor Hacken Lee recently won an award for his acting performance, but it probably is an award no actor wants to win - not the "best" but the opposite.

Lee obviously has not yet convinced the audience with his effort in the comedy "The Lady Iron Chef," which gave him the Worst Male Lead dishonor in the Golden Plum Awards, a Chinese version of the Golden Raspberry Awards.

Nearly half of the 2,436 voters gave their nod to Lee, making him an actor far worse than other four nominees - Jay Chou ("Secret." 511 votes); Dayo Wong ("House of Mahjong." 399 votes); Michael Miu ("Brothers." 177 votes); Daniel Wu ("Blood Brothers." 119 votes).

Lee and his partner in "The Lady Iron Chef," Charmaine Sheh, were together the winners for Worst Partnership.

Mainland actress Natalie Meng Yao was the Worst Female Lead for her role in "Beauty and the Seven Beasts." The film was the Worst and so was its director Zhong Qing, according to voters.

But such awards are not meant to humiliate film workers, says the organizer, a Hong Kong-based news publication. Rather, it hopes to stimulate better film works.
