Vincy Chan, Malaysia Concert

IN conjunction with her concert at Genting, fast rising Hong Kong pop singer Vincy Chan will be in town to meet fans this weekend.

Make your way to Sungei Wang Concourse Stage, Kuala Lumpur, tomorrow (7pm) or Times Square, First World Plaza, Genting, on Saturday (6pm) or Cheras Leisure Mall Concourse Stage, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday (7pm).

The 25-year-old singer has three albums under her belt: Vincy, Flowers Without Snow and Close to You. Her latest album includes an English cover of the Carpenters hit (They Long to Be) Close to You. She also appeared in the Hong Kong movie, Naraka 19.

Local reality TV show audience might remember Chan as one of the top 24 contestants in the first season of Mediacorp’s Project Superstar 2005 held in Singapore.

Returning to Hong Kong, she won the Most Popular Image award in Emperor Entertainment Group’s New Talent Singing Awards 2005 before signing with the label.

Her guest artiste for the Genting concert is label-mate Ken Hung Cheuk Lap, 21, whose voice is said to resemble New Generation God of Song Eason Chan’s.

Debuting last year with his first album titled Love.Gutless, Hung nabbed the Gold Award for Best New Male Singer at the Commercial Radio Hong Kong Awards 2007. He released his second album titled Go in January this year and has been featured in the movie, Love Is Elsewhere.

Vincy Live in Genting will be staged at Arena of Stars on May 31 at 8pm. Concert tickets are priced at RM100, RM180, RM250 and RM380.
