There are rumors that Leon Lai and Gaile Lok got married in a low profile wedding in Maldives. This has caused a stir in the entertainment industry. This perfect couple has won the acceptance of the public. But Gaile doesn’t want to affect Leon’s career which is still in its’ prime. She is following protocol of other mega-stars. She sent a short message and responded to reporters announcing that she didn’t get married and is currently on vacation. Gaile hopes that everyone would give her some privacy. It appears that she is resigned to be the woman behind her man.
Leon and Gaile are the targets for interviews ever since the rumors about a secret wedding in Maldives circulated. The reporter tried to call Gaile’s cellphone and it was obvious that the cell phone was using roaming services. No one picked up and the phone was switched off afterwards. All calls were re-directed to a voicemail. In the end, the newspaper reporter sent text messages to confirm the rumors with Gaile. Yesterday, past midnight (around 12 o’clock), she responded with: “I will never get marry [sic]. On vocation [sic]. Take care!”
Gaile’s response was suspicious. Why did she announce that she will never get married? Yesterday, early morning, the reporter sent another message asking if Gaile was already married so she would not get married again. Gaile responded in the afternoon of the same day with a text message to the reporter. Her text message was: “Not married. Didn't get marry [sic].....On vacation now. Take care n [sic] please give me some privacy. Thank you, don't want to be disturb [sic].”
In the text message, Gaile stated that she didn’t get married. It is believed that her actions were to protect the groom, Leon. She doesn’t want to affect his career and that is why the pair went to Maldives to have a low profile wedding. The newly wed’s company and label hasn’t even received news about the marriage yet. Only their close friends were invited to the wedding ceremony. All the signs suggest that Gaile is determined to quietly be Leon’s woman in the background.
Leon’s label A Music executive Alvin Wong suddenly showed up at the airport yesterday. The reporters went up to him to ask if he attended Leon’s wedding. Once he heard that, he was stunned and he expressed that he didn’t hear about Leon getting married. He also revealed that he didn’t contact Leon and announced that he won’t talk about private matters.
