Lydia's illness arises, goes into ICU Again
Because of liver failure, Lydia Shum last Saturday (20th) was sent to Mary Hospital. It was reported that when she first entered the hospital room, they kept her condition records continously in case her illness arises again. Now transfered into ICU, her condition is stable. Because Lydia's personal doctor went to Mainland for a business trip, the hosptial arranged another liver cancer doctor (a professor) for her, until her doctor returns to Hong Kong. Lydia's daughter, Joyce Cheng visited her mother in the hospital yesterday, but did not reveal Lydia's current condition.
When the large group of media finds out that Lydia was hospitalized, they waited at Mary Hospital for her at 4pm. Lydia's good friend Florence Chan's (陳淑芬) car was pacing back and forth near the hospital. At 6:30pm, Joyce who was wearing a mouth mask and sunglasses came in a 7 persons mini van, bringing a bag of things with her to the hospital. In front of the hospital the group of reporters surrounded Joyce asking about her mother's current condition, Joyce only answered "I also don't know yet, I didn't go up to see her yet." Asked about Lydia transferring into ICU again, Joyce did not answer.
Joyce visits her mother, Refuses to Respond
Joyce was at the hospital for 2 hours before leaving. At 8:30pm, Florence's son Chan Ka Ho (陳家豪) was first to come out from the hospital. Joyce and her boyfriend then left the hospital after them, the two of them were asked again by reporters of the conditions and about entering the ICU again. So many mouths at one time (too many reporters asking at once), she had no reactions and just got into her car and left. Chan Ka Ho drove another car to block reporters' from chasing after Joyce and asking her anything further.
Last month the 22nd, Lydia was sent to the hopsital because of liver failure then transferred into ICU, finally her condition improves and transfers into a private hospital room. Keeping a close watch on her condition, Lydia left the hospital because of her mother's passing. She returns home to bid a last goodbye to her mother.
