34 year old Ada Choi, and 33 year old mainland martial artist Max Zhang met while filming a series 4 years ago. After dating for 4 years and 7 months, they held a wedding ceremony yesterday. Upon picking up Ada, Max sang “Emmanuel”. Ada, her relatives, and good friends were moved to tears. Friends and family wished for the newly weds to be together through thick and thin.
Yesterday morning and 9 a.m., the media appeared outside of Ada’s home, and many police cars came to keep things under control. At 11 a.m., bridesmaids including Athena Chu, 洪 欣, and Ada’s assistant 若 蘭, wore pale green gowns and accompanied Ada during the tea ceremony were the couple poured tea for their elders. As one of the bridemaids, Monica Chan made it just in time for the tea ceremony due to bad weather conditions while returning to Hong Kong.
Ada’s parents were present at the wedding. At 1 p.m, they headed to Hong Kong’s Saigon Baptize Church. The couple rode the $15000 car that Ada uses on a regular basis to get to the church. The front of their car was decorated with (Monchichi) 馬 騮 dolls. In wedding attire, Max and Ada sat holding hands at the back of the car, with all ten fingers interlocked. In good spirits, Ada happily waved to the reporters outside her car.
Ada’s attire consisted of a white wedding gown, a veil, a diamond necklace in the shape of a cross, and a pair of diamond earrings. As for Max, he wore a white tuxedo, and a diamond earring on his left ear. The couple’s wedding rings were gold. Around 300 friends and relatives attended the wedding, including Ada’s gambling addict mother, and her father. Since Ada and her mother have been separated for 2 years, there was no conversation between them. Other guests at the ceremony included Jeeny Tseng, Wu Fung, Joe Ma, 鄧 英 敏, etc.
At 2 p.m., Max sang the Chinese version of“Emmanuel”, while playing the piano, as Ada walked down the aisle with her father accompanying her. At the sight of Ada walking down the aisle, Max Zhang was moved to tears, and stopped singing momentarily. Ada, along with the guests present at the ceremony became very emotional as well and could not hold in their tears. Soon after, with a deep breath, Max held in his tears and continued to finish singing “Emmanuel”as Ada continue down the aisle.
After the new couple read their vows, and exchanged wedding rings, Max Zhang pulled back Ada’s veil and kissed her lightly on both cheeks. At that moment, all the the guests stood up shouting 「 咀 佢 」(“Kiss her”). Max Zhang did as he was told and kissed her on the lips.
Monica Chan caught the Bouquet of FlowersAfterwards, the couple made their speeches. Ada expressed that she will follow the bible and treat Max as the head, letting him speak first. Max expressed that the night before, he thought for a very long time. Fearing that he will forget what to say, he memorized it for a long time. From his right pocket he took out his “cheat sheet” and said : In the future no matter if our living conditions ar good or bad, I will love this wife for my entire life. I’m very grateful that Ada lead me to recognize Jesus, and recognize God. Under God's lead, I’m able to marry Ada, and this is happiest event in my life.
As for Ada, she was so nervous that she didn’t know what to say. She thanked her father and mother in law, for giving her such a handsome husband.
After their speeches, the MC dismissed the ceremony, wishing the happy couple to be together through thick and thin. Max carried Ada into the hall, causing the guests to be in high spirits. As planned earlier, Ada was to throw her bouquet of flowers to Monica Chan. The rest of the guests knew of this, so when Ada threw her bouquet, everyone let Monica catch it.
Dinner took place inside a hall, and they had western food. At 5p.m., the couple, came out to allow reporters to take pictures of them. When reporters requested them to kiss, Ada blew them a kiss instead. Soon after the couple went back inside to have dinner with the rest of the guests. There were 48 tables in all.
