Steven Chan: Lydia Shum Rest in Peace
TVB Manager Steven Chan’s response to Lydia’s death was he expressed that he feels regretful, he quotes Lydia’s daugher Joyce Cheng: Lydia Shum Rest in Peace.
Steven said at the Reporters meeting that he and Lydia’s daughter Joyce Cheng has been keeping close contact. Joyce’s condtion (her mood) is normal and says that she hopes Lydia can rest in peace.
Steven also says, Lydia’s death to the HK citizens, Artistes and TVB is a great lost. He praises Lydia’s successful TV career, often participating in charity events. He also says, Lydia has brought many great memories for the HK people as well as overseas audience. He believes that each and every single one of the Hong Kong citizens will remember this great “Happy Fruit”
He says, TVB will be helping Lydia’s family members to prepare for her funeral.
Selina Chow: Lydia Shum is the most hardworking Artiste
Selina Chow Sok Yi (周梁淑怡) the Executive Council of Hong Kong expresses that Lydia Shum is the most hard working artiste that she has seen, regarding her death she feels very sorry and pitiful.
Selina says, Lydia and her entered the entertainment circle around the same time period, she admires Lydia’s continuous efforts in maintaining her career, her quality and professionalism. She refers Lydia to have contributed tremendously to the entertainment industry, the profession and provided great inspirations to the later generations.
She feels that the entertainment circle has lost something very important, such a great artiste is just a pity.
Joyce Cheng’s appearance in Queen Mary hospital caused chaos
Artiste Lydia Shum’s death, her daughter Joyce Cheng and family members were at Queen Mary hospital at approximately 12:30pm and was surrounded by reporters, causing a chaos.
Joyce stayed around the hopsital for about 30 more minutes before leaving, she did not answer anything.
