Hong Kong singer turned actor Nicholas Tse was in the media spotlight recently for his rumoured relationship with model Janice Man, which he did not deny previously.
However, at a promotional event for Lunar New Year movie From Vegas to Macau in Beijing two days ago, the 33-year-old singer had a 'change of heart' and said '“ with an innocent expression '“ that the rumours 'are not true!'
When asked if he will seek his son's opinion when he has a girlfriend in future, he replied: 'My son (Lucas) is only six. But let's not talk about this, I don't want to speak about my son at a public event.'
Besides Nicholas, the movie also stars screen legend Chow Yun Fat, from whom the former admits he has been learning a lot from.
Chow Yun Fat was full of praise for Nicholas. 'He's young, charming and hardworking,' he said. 'Previously I've said that the future of Hong Kong films in the next 30 years depends on Nicholas. But of course, this statement is meant to give him pressure.'
Chow Yun Fat returns to the role of a 'god of gamblers', 20 years since his last gambling film. He even specially lost 20 kg for the movie, explaining that acting alongside young skinny actors is stressful, so he felt that he had to lose weight!
Director Wang Jing said the movie has potential to bring in 1.5 billion RMB (approximately S$310 million) into box office and become a major blockbuster in China.
As box office sales in China can reach up to 20 billion RMB (approximately S$4.1 billion) in a year, Chow Yun Fat is also confident that it will surpass that in America in 10 years' time.
