Rumour has it that stars Raymond Lam and Kate Tsui have given up hope on TVB, after losing the coveted title at this year's TVB Anniversary Awards.
Popular Asian reported that both Raymond and Kate allegedly voiced their opposition by refusing to work for TVB. While Raymond decided to focus on doing albums, films and mainland dramas next year, Kate Tsui reportedly will dedicate most of 2013 on filming movies.
The rumours came about after it was revealed that the total number of Raymond's votes did not even qualify him for a second place trophy at the event that was held recently. According to reports, Raymond did not even make it into the top three while 2012 TV King, Wayne Lai reportedly won by a landslide of 110,000 votes and Kenneth Ma came in second place with approximately 30,000 votes behind Wayne.
Similarly, Tavia won the Best Actress award with over 110,000 votes while Kate came second, also with 30,000 votes behind.
Sources claimed that the reason for Tavia Yeung and Wayne Lai's victory is due to a struggle between TVB management executives, Catherine Tsang and Virginia Lok.
It was rumoured that the former insisted to hold the awards in mid-December, after the broadcasts of Anniversary dramas, "Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles" and "The Confidant" that stars some of Catherine Tsang's favourites - Tavia and Wayne, allowing them to have a greater chance in winning the Best Actress and Actor awards.
