Despite criticism surrounding her Best Actress nomination for the upcoming 45th TVB Anniversary Awards, Aimee Chan seemed unshaken with the controversy.

Popular Asians website reported that at the celebratory dinner for the cast and crew of "The Last Step Ascent", Aimee stated, "It is the company's decision, and I only hope that I can make good progress each year. Being nominated this year is already an improvement. I will not question it."
The actress' beau, actor Moses Chan also added, "A person should always look forward. Winning an award or not is only a diversion."

Fans and Netizens alike were unhappy with the recent Anniversary Awards nomination list that was released by TVB. Disappointment was at all time high when Aimee Chan was nominated for her role in "The Last Steep Ascent" despite receiving unenthusiastic reviews for her acting while co-star Maggie Cheung was not enlisted in any category.
