The heavenly king resumes showbiz duties in the entertainment industry once again
It's been more than three years since Leon Lai held a concert and released a music album. Living a semi-retired life since 2009, the actor-singer's recent appearance at a few charity events sparked speculations of his interest to stage a showbiz comeback.
It is said that the 45-year-old hopes to recoup a portion of his assets, which was distributed to his ex-wife Gaile Lok during the divorce earlier this month, through his career reboot.
Leon reportedly gave up ownership of their joint-company and transferred a few apartments to Gaile's name. The assets are said to worth an estimated HK$200 million (S$30 million).
He made his first post-divorce public appearance at a celebrity golf challenge in Hainan Island last week and even agreed to attend a small event held in Hunan, China - which is unlike of him.
Leon was seen ignoring reporters' questions on his separation at the celebrity golf challenge event. He only stopped and posed for the cameras when he saw his longtime friend and Korean actor, Jang Woo Sung.
