Cantopop diva Miriam Yeung had completely stopped work to prepare for her pregnancy.
She might be more than three months pregnant, but the straightforward Miriam is unwilling to announce her good news, for fear of jinxing the pregnancy.
It is believed that the singer and her husband Real are very nervous about their first pregnancy. Not only does Miriam go for a checkup every fortnight, the couple also insists on overseeing their baby's growth personally.
According to an insider, during Miriam's last ultrasound, she spotted a small line-shaped shadow, at the baby's crotch.
The singer happily asked the doctor if she was pregnant with a baby boy.
"The doctor say he's uncertain, but Real believed that the possibility is very high and even wanted us to buy him blue baby clothes," the insider said.
While Miriam is elated with her pregnancy, she is also fraught with worries.
In an earlier test, the singer was told that her baby faces a high risk of Down Syndrome.
The singer has been advised to take a further test. However the test comes with an average risk of 1% of having a miscarriage.
It is believed that Miriam will take the test before the New Year.
"Miriam has a background in nursing and is already mentally prepared for the test, letting on that she will not be able to have a peace of mind without knowing the results. She even joked that as long as her son is safe, she is alright with not winning any awards in the future," the insider said.
