Andy lead Smile Shanghai




Andy Lau whom had just celebrated his birthday days earlier did not make good use of his holiday to recover, with the National Day he went to perform in two events. At the CCTV gala show, Andy and Mao Amin duet ‘Jin Tian Shi Ni De Sheng Ri Wo De Zhong Guo’, he return to Shanghai Grand Stage on 13 October 2009 to sing his composition ‘Mu Qin’.

Although he was unlucky to came in second in a Singapore radio station’s Showbiz Bad Men survey, but it does not seems to affect his popularity in Shanghai. Being the finale performer for Stars sing Expo – 200-days countdown to World Expo World Expo excellent song concert, the fans screamed for him even before he appeared on stage. During his performance, one particular male fan even rushed onto the stage to get close to him.

The highlight of the concert was the theme song of 200-days countdown to World Expo World Expo – Smile Shanghai being sang for the first time, Andy was the one to sing the first line.

Members of Andy World Club had occupied most of the seats in the venue, with light-sticks in hand, waving to the music, they all rushed toward the stage at the end of the performance. Andy also entertained the fans and did not make a swift exit after he performed.

With regards to World Expo World Expo 2010, Andy said: “It’s like what I’ve just saw, everyone is smiling, hope I can see everyone at the expo smiling.”

At the concert, Andy expressed his support for World Expo Shanghai China, he said that he would like to come again during the 100 days, 10 days, 5 days or the opening of the World Expo Shanghai China to perform. He said to the audience: “If you hope to see me come again, just tell me,” this resulted in loud cheers from the audience.

The concert’s compere Cao Kefan also sent out invitation that hope that Andy would be in Shanghai when World Expo Shanghai China opening on 1 May 2010 and closing on 31 October 2010 to become a new “Shanghai people”.

Andy also reply with a smile and a few Shanghainese words: “Thank you! Thanks the whole family!”
