Shu Qi, in Taipei at the opening ceremony of the first cross-straits film festival yesterday, and clad in a simple sundress, found herself nonetheless the center of attention.
In the artistic romantic comedy, If You Are the One, also the opening film of the festival, Shu plays a married air stewardess who has an extra-marital affair. In reality, she says that it is good to stay true to one's feelings.
Speaking of her working experience with director Feng Xiaogang, Shu said, "Director Feng is a very determined person. He would not hesitate to wake his actors and crew in the middle of the night just to film a night scene. It's been a pleasure working with him and I've gained much experience."
Director Feng, who was also at the festival on Wednesday, was also full of praises for Shu and complimented her for the superb acting.
He said, "The only regret was that the time we spent together was way too short! Shu Qi is a great actress and everyone likes her. I hope she would be able to star in my new movie next year, so we can get together again."
