THE newly-launched brand 18Eighty boasts of a unique philosophy – the number “1880” plays a significant role in its price range. It also prides itself on having something suitable for women, regardless of their age or fashion style.
“18Eighty is a fashion brand that offers trendy and chic fashion with a sophisticated flair,” said Fashion Sense Sdn Bhd executive director Michelle Lee, who founded the 18Eighty brand together with her partner Ken-G Lim.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen recently launched 18Eighty's first boutique at 1 Utama Shopping Centre together with Hong Kong TVB actress Linda Chung Ka-Yan.
To mark their new business, Lee pledged that 18Eighty would undertake a community project for a charity cause to be selected by Ng.
Lee declared, “Shoppers can trade their used clothes and be rewarded with attractive discounts for each apparel purchased. The used clothes will be donated to the charitable organisation.
“We will be donating 10% of our sales to the cause. For every RM100 voucher purchased from 18Eighty, RM10 will also be set aside for charity. 18Eighty's charity drive will run until September 2008.”
Chung personally bought RM10,000 worth of vouchers and hoped that visitors would donate as much as they can as it would go towards a worthy cause.
Guests at the launch were entertained to a preview of 18Eighty's collection comprising casual, office, cocktail and formal attire.
The collection is described as an eclectic mixture of texture, colour and print, with styles ranging from the hip and funky to feminine and fashion.
18Eighty is located at Lot 336, First Floor, 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Its second boutique will be opened in Mid Valley Megamall soon.
