Sammul Chan encountered real robber while filming a chasing scene
A few days ago, Sammul Chan and Ron Ng filmed a bridge-jumping scene for The Academy 3. Sammul, who has always been agile, did the act himself. For better effects, he jumped four times. Afterwards, they changed location to Central near the Prince Building to film a chasing scene. Suddenly a man ran out from an alley apprehensively and dropped two bags on the floor. Later on Sammul found out that the man was indeed a real habitual robber who especially had an eye on hearing and speech disabled people. The man thought he was a real cop, so nervously abandoned his stolen goods.
The two TVB siu sangs, Sammul Chan and Ron Ng, were filming a bridge-jumping scene in Sheung Wan early in the morning a few days ago, which attracted a huge crowd. The plot was about Ron, who played an undercover cop, bumped into Sammul the PTU in the street which resulted in a chasing scene and eventually jumping off the bridge.
Screams from the crowd
After trying out the positions, the two siu sangs, with the help of wires, filmed the bridge-jumping scene. Although it was only jumping onto a truck, the onlookers were amazed. After the first shot, both actors immediately went to the director to watch the playback. However, the director wanted a better shot and requested another try. Sammul, without hesitation, ran back up the bridge for another jump, and altogether he took four jumps.
Afterwards, the crew went to Central to continue filming a chasing scene. Sammul, who was wearing PTU uniform had to run up and down the long stairs in the heat, and he was perspiring profusely in no time, like in a sauna. However, there were more and more onlookers, which resulted in many NGs, the environment was hard to control. Sammul, who was in police uniform, shouted to Ron who was wearing short-sleeves tee, ‘Don’t run anymore or I’ll shoot!’ At this moment a man ran out from an alley, took a look at Sammul, and dropped two handbags in front of him. Sammul said later, ‘That man was in fact a real robber, he was robbing in the back street, heard someone shouting ‘police’, thought his act was exposed, so he left in a hurry.’ Sammul said, ‘I didn’t think that I could unintentionally help someone in that way.’
