New year, new son lauch Lee on concert blitz

The birth of his son inspired veteran Hong Kong singer Hacken Lee to begin a series of 11 consecutive concerts on February 8. The kick off concert also marked the second day of the first month on Chinese lunar calendar.

Hacken Lee's two hi-fi albums "Hacken Lee Concert Hall" and "Hacken Lee Concert Hall II" opened a new horizon for the Hong Kong recording industry and won Lee the best-selling album awards.

Lee named his 2008 concert series "Your Hacken Lee Concert Hall". The series goes until February 17 as a kind of spring festival special for the enjoyment of his fans. An orchestra comprised of 40 musicians plays the accompaniment to create the perfect live back up.

Lee appears in 12 costume sets to the surprise of the audience. A pair of specially designed angel wings speaks to his excitement and his expectations for his new-born son. And the dance steps, so carefully rehearsed for the concert series raise enthusiasm to a peak.

Hacken Lee's concerts at the Coliseum are his first after his son's birth. While he can't bring the baby to the concerts, there is a strong guest lineup: including Pricilla Chan, Shirley Kwan and Alan Tam.
